those with RS cars and not able to get extended warranty, i wonder if you can get dealership to make the car CPO for a cost? not sure if it's doable and if it's cost effective

Yes, Porsche Vehicle Service Protection - Platinum.

I was quoted the following for a 2018 GT3:
120 Months or 100k miles : $8843
120 Months or 75k miles $7313
108 Months or 60k miles $5525

Months are from original in service date. This is with a $100 disappearing deductible (i.e - don't pay the $100 if car is repaired at dealer who provided the extended warranty)

Porsche does not offer extended warranties on RS models. I've called maybe 10 dealers, including Livermore.

I can confirm I’ve heard this several times as well. Not sure if Fidelity plans will cover them, but enter the VIN below to give it a try.

I haven't found one. And even if I did, I wouldn't trust it. My dealer threw in a "free" wheel/tire protection warranty on my car. I tried to use it once for wheel damage and was denied. These third-party companies make up any and all excuses to not cover damage. I wouldn't trust an extended warranty from a third-party. They'll just find a way to deny your claim and you really have no recourse.

Just got off the phone with a couple dealerships - Porsche Livermore was unable to offer me coverage for my 2018 GT3 for longer than 84 months, which means only one year past the CPO expiration. Porsche Fremont would not offer me coverage since the car's original warranty had already expired. Calling around to see if the dealer I originally purchased from can offer something longer and will post back if I get a chance!

Seems like it's hit and miss and dependent on if you purchased a car from them or not.

The situation with not being able to extend the warranty of the RS is something Porsche needs to address. There has to be a way to accomplish this or in 2 years people will sell all of them and never buy RS again. I have no idea what the reasoning is, it is just as prone to track abuse as the GT3.

So even tho Safe-Guard is the administrator of the Porsche VSP, it's still considered a Porsche extended warranty? Only one other post on this entire thread even mentions Safe-Guard.

I purchased an extended warranty (Porsche Platinum, $250 deductible, 5 additional years (108mo., 60k total) for my 991.2 GT3 which was coming out of warranty. Paid $3,850 which after shopping around was a great price. Additionally, I purchased it from an out of state dealer where extended warranties are not subject to sales tax.

What an awesome online tool. Didn't know this existed. Thanks for sharing.

I have a 2016 GT3RS (991.1) and it appears I can get coverage.

Could you share which dealer you got it from? I'm in the same position
