Get more price action at the local bingo than 991 values. So boring...... it'd be more fun if we got some mini dump, then the sideliners could gloat and lowball owners, and we could argue about if/when they'll recover.

All of that sidelined capital in this thread was right to wait, though, just not for the reason they thought. +36% ytd nasdaq should ameliorate any 991 "premium" concerns, happy shopping

That would be me. I overpaid for my 991.2 6MT GT3. Seriously, I did. BUT, I wanted FAL, ext fuel, sport chrono, buckets, PCCB, deviated stitching and Carrera White Metallic. I finally ran across the spec I wanted and jumped on it.

Thing is, I made enough the following weekend to absorb that loss 4 times over. And now I'm piling miles on the best car I've ever driven in my life.

I did learn a lesson. Life is short, don't have any regrets. I thought, "Self, what am I going to regret more when I'm 80 and gumming my lunch? How much I overpaid for this car? Or missing out on how much ****ing fun I'm having driving my dream car all over the place?" Seems like a pretty easy choice to me. I get that everyone doesn't have the same options, so your mileage may vary...

It’s not necessarily overpaying if you find the car you want and saved time continuing to search. Time is money, and waiting is opportunity cost.

Exactly! Missing years of driving is not worth the savings. If I am shopping and I see exactly what I want, I tend to contact, negotiate and deposit immediately to secure it. I don't mind paying a little more, if I have to, for the right car. I have had a few slip through in the past by procrastinating, so if I see the right one, I like to lock it down. To have the car in the garage is priceless. IMO, in this price range a 20k swing is not a big deal to get what you want and start enjoying it.

With used cars, my approach is that if I run across a car I really like at a FAIR price, I'll buy it. Shopping for a bargain price often means that you'll waste a lot of time shopping and maybe never find the right car at that bargain price. This approach has generally resulted in my getting cars I like at better than fair prices, because I didn't spend a lot of time deliberating and letting them slip away. When there's a good opportunity, seize it, don't overthink.

This is me as well. I found a high mileage GT3 in January 22 for $10k below MSRP at a time when people were paying a lot more. Did I overpay? Maybe just a little but it was a FAIR price at the time and now I've had a year and a half of fun and smiles! Totally worth it.

This is my philosophy too. If I want a car, I’m not waiting. I’m too impatient. My only criteria on price is “what is current fair market value”. I’m not particularly obsessed with where values will be 6-12 months away.

Some people have fun trying to analyze the market and grab a car at precisely the best time to buy. More power to them, that’s not my game.

Same here and can careless +/- $10-$20k more or less. I went through 4 GT cars the past 1.5 years . Sold all previous three to a dealer knowing it could have fetch more $ private.

21k over MSRP with 2 days to go. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...t3-touring-23/

991.2 GT3 market pricing seems pretty strong to me.

I think under 200 would be a fair deal. Most tourings listed online are like in the 210-220 range but not selling very fast either.

this is a touring. They are stronger anyway. I’ve been watching .2 winged GT3s on CarGurus. Many of them have had price drops of $10k or more.
