The 991 GT3/RS Cars For Sale Thread...
#7247
You guys are incredible. You pounce daily on any data factor which supports prices on RS cars are crashing. Just because one sells on BAT for under MSRP that seems to now set the trend when there are others daily still trading far above that in the $240k to $260k range depending on spec, color and miles. Keep holding out my friends!!

There are around 10 Weissach RS’s listed on Autotrader. Cheapest one is at $253k with 3 listed at over $310k. I don’t care what you say the latest sale on BAT is unusually low and is not indicative of the market. Good luck getting another one at that price in the future.
I have been able to negotiate down GT3s, speedsters, and TTS from wide variety of sellers over 15% below asking prices. I have plenty of examples of recent sales (actual sales by dealers).
It’s a bid sad to see not everyone understand how these things work. When you are buying a car, it’s not like buying a laptop from best buy. The price tag isnt what you pay. And these extremely high margin niche cars have massive profit margins built in. As always, you need to do your homework and understand the hand of the opponent similar to a poker game. If you figure out what the dealer paid for the car, the cost of holding the car on their book, and overall market trajectory, you can come up with realistic offers that they would be willing to accept.
A $180k msrp GT3 that dealer paid $170k and listing at $225k costs him about $1500/month in flooring fees each month he holds it. The longer he holds it, the worse it is as the financing usually compounds for them (as they wont make enough principal payments since the underlying business assumption is cars should move fast). Assuming they want to make $10-15k (very generous) net profit, assuming other overhead costs of $5k per car, you can figure out where the sweet spot is and its nowhere near the asking price. Some of these dealers are already way upside down (the ones who paid premium last season and didnt cut their losses in winter).

Conversely, BAT is usually higher than where these cars usually “retail”. Retail means the “sale” price. Just because someone is asking for $310k doesn’t mean that’s what they are getting. You should google “bid and ask prices” in just pure finance terms.

I dont think thats true. I have actually been getting PMs from several different people on this board asking for advice and based on the kinds of questions I am getting, its clear everyone doesnt have the same experience with this market. Nothing wrong with asking questions and I am actually really happy to help others. The more we help each other, better it is for the buyers as we'll drive the inflated prices down to where they need to be.

LOL NO. I paid $214.5 for my miami blue weissach with 1600 miles in August 2020. $237 sticker
There was a non weissach miami on here that took a while to sell at $195 asking.
There was a lizard green car weissach sold in Tennessee around that time for something stupid like 165. Remember people thought the world was ending?

Still looking for a Miami Blue, Non Wessiach.. $195K for the one your mentioned. Shoot...that would have been a good price. I will sit and wait patiently until prices come down to earth or the world ends (lol)

@achenator - that low mile WP Lizard that sold in TN was ~$182K. It was at a Honda dealer if I remember correctly, and a member here swooped in to purchase it. I believe you're right that it still stands at the lowest data point for one without an accident and or very high miles. I think the MSRP on the car was ~$237k.

I remember seeing the WP Lizard in TN, total steal.
Jan/Feb had some really good deals on the 2019 GT3 RS, but it looks the prices are back up again. If I could find a nicely equipped Non-Weish $210-$215K, I would do it.
