We have several dealers in town, and you have to be close to or VIP status to get an allocation at 1 dealer, the other will ask significant ADM unfortunately. I'm sure there are those who get allocation at MSRP, but probably with some stipulations as described above, and won't get future allocations if they don't adhere. However I know 0 people who passed on a RS allocation at MSRP. With increased MSRP, and 100-150K ADM, lot of other cars on the market for that price range to consider. For now, makes the 991.2 RS seem like a deal.

Know a guy who gets every new variant he wants -- currently has 992 RS, GT4 RS, Dakar, maybe some other stuff on order.

Buys exclusively through one out of state dealer. Purchases used vehicles from them no negotiation. Paying some (unknown) ADM on all the above. Reportedly sends his dealer people designer gifts, e.g., watches, in between purchases. Yeah, really. Couldn't be more playing the game. But gets everything he wants, and I guess between driving experiences & flips it all works out for him.

Another buddy who has family history of purchases with dealer, into the 7 figures. Doesn't play games beyond being a normal customer. Had to scrape and claw for 4 RS @ 50k adm, over a year waiting for an allocation w/ that deposit down, and he's trading in a .2 3 RS on the deal as well.

Conversed with others who have had falling outs with various dealers because when they pursued 992 GT3/RS, 4 RS, whatever, they were insulted by the exorbitant ADM demand, i.e., they presumed their history of brand/dealer loyalty would count for more, but nope.

So, MSRP not happening anywhere in my Porsche world. Guess it happens with more decent, smaller dealers? I don't know. Pretty shocked that even more decent dealers are willing to walk away from +150k on a single sale.

All of this nonsense is why I prefer the used 991 thread. Won't even make an attempt on a new GT car so long as this sort of nonsense is involved.

Now that would make sense.
It's simple, because flipping the 992 RS would burn a bridge. I value that bridge/friendship very much. It's just not what I do, not worth it over a car. But for conversations sake, let's say I would burn that bridge and get it. Then mark it up significantly to offset the cost.991.2 3RS. I perhaps could profit some ($100K -$150K) as you say, that isn't enough to buy a 991.2 3RS outright and have money left over? I just don't operate that way. I could never sell a car over MSRP to my friends, just not worth it.
The new 992 RS is just a different beast and for its intended purpose would not suit my purposes, so the 991.2 3RS would fit that category perfectly, but with a price closer to MSRP, not some inflated markup.

However, all the current allocations have been spoken for. ADMs are mostly from flippers and second hand market. Rumor is that more allocations are coming, possibly even a 992.2 GT3, and if you are patient and lucky to get one likely it will be at MSRP.

Market for both cars is driven by demand and impatience. Also by ignorance. EBay sold a Porsche umbrella that would go into a cubby hole in the door jamb of a 996 for $200, when you could get one from Porsche for $30 at that time. This thread should help make the market picture a little more clear. Just have to get through the bad vs the good observations.

Bingo, I don't know why are getting more and more "trained" to accept paying high ADM's. It baffles me. Amazon has taught us to want it right now.... instantly along with the many food delivery services at our disposal. Since when did waiting two months time seem like a long time?

porsche follows auctions and have forced some auctions to close by threatening the flipper. Not saying you would auction a new RS. They have ways of finding out even sales between “friends”.

Figured I'd contribute as a buyer, just purchased a 2015 991.1 GT3 in Denver for $135k.

45k Miles, GT Silver, G6 Motor, No PCCBs, 18 ways, FAL, Full Xpel PPF, BBI Cage, GMG Center Delete.

Recent example I missed out on - 991.1 GT3RS, Voodoo Blue, Cage, Exhaust, 16k miles, PPF - immaculate - Private Party - listed for $234k in Feb, price dropped to $215k in March, price dropped to $195k in April, I called him (again) someone flew out and he was holding it, that buyer didn't buy, I called him two days later to buy it at $193k, price he offered me and he had sold it 4 hours earlier for $191k - he was just tired of trying to sell at a higher price. Most dealers I've spoken with in the last few months who are willing to divulge actual sale price verses list price are selling 5-10% below asking - OK - that's only a sample of two dealers - haha But prices are coming down enough that I'm actually going to buy in the next couple of months. I'm not trying to time the absolute bottom, as I'm going to daily drive the crap out of it, so I know it's going to be worth A LOT less than what I pay, but that's how I treat all my 911s - drive the wheels off, put snow tires in the winter and canyon run, rock chip that crap out of it from the gravel, but it's priceless fun drifting on snowy roads without having the danger of high speed dry pavement drifting.

Simply....not....seeing it for nice cars. Sure for a clapped out .1 you can get a 'deal.' For a basic .2 track rat, yeah go ahead and dive in, you'll get a swingin' 'deal'

But for a unique PTS well optioned and well taken care of example? No they haven't moved much. Sold my .2 six weeks ago for $225K, $20K over msrp, very well maintained, low mileage, but no warranty left.

In fact there are now murmurs of a second increase in prices, now worldwide on 992's. I ordered my 992 GT3 right around Thanksgiving. If true this would mean that my order is price protected from two separate price increases during the order to delivery timeline. That is unheard of. And if you think prices for 992's don't affect the last model that bowed out, you might be sniffing household cleaners. We are in the midst of obscene inflation. If you want something, you better get it now.

Edit: Yeah sounds like another increase is coming, 4-8% depending on model. Got this article from the 992 GT3 board: https://www.teslarati.com/porsche-in...g-q1-earnings/

Yeah with 992 RS prices topping $400-450k with ADM factored in you can bet 991 RS's won't be dropping much longer.

Really not trying to convince anyone, just trying to state my thought process was all. Not looking for approvals. Everyone handles things very differently.
