7. Get the car for a steal of a price after all is said and done, take it to Dundon and get an epic motor build. Jamie at Dundon has a fix + upgrade ready to go but put it on the shelf after the Porsche extended the warranty.
I love that option... But they most definitely are NOT transacting for 'steal' prices these days! Hence the upcoming correction...
Mezger engine coolant lines can be preventatively addressed at a reasonable cost, and even if they fail, does not cause catastrophic engine damage. LSD's have always kind of sucked in Porsche for longevity, again, lots of aftermarket solutions at fairly reasonable prices. But i you have a finger follower engine failure post warranty, you are talking HUGE repair costs. Doesn't seem all that hard to grasp.
My point was until these are out of warranty there wouldn't be a lot of development around an aftermarket fix. The 997 issues are considered 'minor' because those issues have been developed over the course of years, common sense would say there will be a solution for the 991.1's issues once its not on Porsche to repair.

Dundon supposedly developed a fix awhile ago. There was no point marketing it with the new warranty on the engine. So once the warranties are toast....I'm sure it will be almost immediate.

Exactly my thought, going around stating the 991.1's are junk or a huge risk is not correct. A complete 9A1 head assembly is $5000 also worst case if replacing, but more than likely the folks on the industry will have a fix for this once those warranties lapse.

If that is your speculation, than you should absolutely try and corner the market on 991.1 GT3s! I stand by my personal prediction however that they do pose significant risk (and never said they were "junk").
IMHO, the risk, even with speculative future fixes baked in, is not an acceptable trade off considering the current price delta between .1 and .2., and even with this potential aftermarket fix, I see it as a bad bet.
As I understand it, the 10 year warranty does not apply to .1 RS--never clear to me whether that was because:
1) the .1 problematic GT3 motors of '14/'15 were changed for .1 RS production, or
2) the redline for the .1 RS was reduced in '16 production to band-aid the problems they had with the GT3 motors.in order to rectify the problem for purposes of avoiding the warranty debacle.
I am interested in the .1 RS but wonder if the same issues mentioned above are relevant for possible resale later. The .1 RS prices remain fairly stout.
