Gt3 or Carrera T as a daily driver
I’ve been working on a deal to pick up a 2019 Gt3. It’s a pdk. This would be used as a daily driver for the next 12-18 months.
Ive had a Touring and a RS so am very familiar with the performance of the car.
However, performance is not at the top of the list for me as I have other toys that fill that need. I’m just bored of my Range Rover and want something more fun as a daily.
As I was closing in on the deal for the GT3, I happened upon a Carrera T. Same color. bucket seats which I want. 50k cheaper. And a manual.
now I know it’s less HP, not as fast and all that but is it a fun car? I don’t mind spending the extra 50k on the GT3 but if I can save it, why not?
for those that own a Carrera T, is it engaging and fun or will I regret not going all the way to get the GT3?
Appreciate the input.

Curious what you thought about the RS on the street? The T appears to be a very fun car. Test drive it and find out.

There isn’t one local to me. If there was I’d test drive it in a heart beat.
RS on the street was great. Nothing wrong with it at all.

This is a tough one.
I think for now you may feel Performance is not on the top of the list but i think after the honeymoon wears off you will wish you bought the GT3 and had the performance. If you are buying the GT3 right and getting a good deal the extra fiffy will not not matter,in the end, because the Carrera T will depreciate more. Heck- I would rather grab used Audi R8 with the all wheel drive and pick up some thing different in my opinion

If you're going that route GTS everyday of the week (near GT3 performance/handling and you can make it as comfortable as you need and or require for DD duty)

Have 991.2 RS and 997 GT3. Daily WAS an F80 M3 until I drove a T. Needed some form of backseats. Found a manual, RAS, Carrera T interior pack car. 3k miles into it, and I have to say it might be the best Porsche I've for owned. Added Soul 100 cell cats and a little ECU tune. Car really is most overachieving 991 in whole generation.

A big detriment to daily driving a GT3 into NYC for me is not ride height, ride harshness, the engine needing to rev out, it's the centerlocks. I get punctures all the time and need to keep a spare in my daily. In the T i have the whole spare stepup with jack and tools in the frunk. I would not be able to do that with the 3. If that's no concern, id do the GT3. That said, I've owned six 991's, three of which were GT3's. The Carrera T might be my favorite of them all, or at least top two with the .2 GT3.

I've owned both cars. The problem with the T is that every time I was in it, I wished I were in my GT3. The difference in the sound alone is enormous, not to mention the styling, power, redline, and on and on it goes. I ended up selling my T, it just felt too pedestrian compared to my GT3.

Burning Brakes
T is awesome. Just a muffler and a tune, and the car is in the 470hp range (+/-). Properly equipped, it is a lot lighter than a GT3 (buckets, pccb, rear seat delete, manual).
I drove a tuned + muffler + springs + DSC. It felt nimble, we were on a GoKart track, it doesn't get any tighter than that, the Carrera T beat every single car at the event.
On the streets, I think it is better than a GT3. It comes with the anti-lag function first introduced in the 991.2 Turbo S, when activated, the car keeps boost and the turbos spinning off the gas pedal for a few seconds, so when you get back on the gas, acceleration is immediate and linear, Zero Turbo Lag. Also, the Turbos are smaller than the ones in my 991 Turbo S (and the 991.2 GTS and 991.2 S), so they spool quicker.
The brakes need better brake pad, stainless steel brake lines and Castrol SRF to feel better and to my preference.
For street driving, it has more than enough torque.
You can get it with rear seats, or rear seats deleted. Manual or PDK. RWS or more pure rear-end. Buckets or Sofas.
I have seen them in the low $90s in the used market, that's a good value. In between the Cayman GT4 and the Carrera T, I enjoyed the T more.

Been dailying my 993 (thanks PennDOT for fixing potholes by coving in big gravel and I don’t want stone chips in my GT3). Got to drive a T and other than the sound, it was a fun car, but any 991 will do it properly speced unless your daily drive is the autobahn or lots of twisties where you might notice a difference among them.

Depends on what you intend to as a daily driver.
I think for basically doing day-to-day duties like going from A to B, picking up groceries, running errands, etc. then I would vote for the T as the low-end torque is much more usable and a much better "performing" car in that respect.
Plus, it's more low key (no wing, looks like any other 911), and it gets better gas mileage and probably lower insurance rates.

Buckets- I find them comfortable as I daily drove an RS for almost a year- no issues.
Power- again- not a concern. I have other cars that give me plenty of power
I figured save 50k and still have a fun car. Every person who has one says its one of the best Porsches but a couple of comments about turbo lag have me concerned. I wish I could find one locally to test drive. I hate the Porsche Turbo lag. its annoying as hell. My 488 and 720 spoiled me with lack of turbo lag.

Listen to Jimmy.
If you've owned an RS and it was not too harsh or over the top, I don't think money is that important. I think, like Jimmy said the honeymoon will wear off and you'll wish you were in the GT3. You only live once.
