Hi Vintage72,

Using the tool is fairly straightforward, and anyone who has changed wheels on a standard five lug car will come up to speed very quickly.

For now there is the video below, and the tool does come with fairly comprehensive instructions. I'll likely be shooting a new longer video tutorial before the V2 units ship.

If you have any questions once you receive the tool please let me know.

Thank you - I have changed plenty of 5 lug wheels and I use a TQ wrench often.

Hi Steve, you are correct that a 20" long, 1/2" drive, ratchet would work just as well as a torque wrench for removal as long as it had a fixed, non-pivoting head. The ones that pivot have more flex than I would like to see in this application. A breaker bar would slow the job down quite a bit as you really want the ratcheting action during the initial steps of removal.

My 250 ft.lb. torque wrench has a pivoting head. Is this a big problem? I don't know what flex it has that you are referring to but the torque wrench seems solid when I'm using it.

You should be fine with your current torque wrench. I was referring to some pivot head 1/2" breaker bars like the one in the pic below. These flex a bit and I would avoid using them for this purpose.

I am just now seeing this thread for the first time. Is it to late to get in on the group buy for a V2?

Good news - the first group of Version 2 tools has been produced and will be shipping tomorrow! We're working hard on filling all the existing group buy orders and expect to have them shipped within the next three-four weeks.

Thanks to all the patient group buyers....you will all have your tools shortly.

Can you recommend a torque wrench to use with the system?
