That PCNA note is mixing different issues. Overall production delay, production capacity limits, and production forecasting not correctly constrained by predicted materials availability.
Just in time manufacturing and just in time materials delivery are one thing if you're making a Kia, and something very different if you have highly customized cars. It's possible that one part from one supplier could be delayed which could delay an entire build. 3rd party suppliers don't always meet their forecasts.
I'm not sure this is as 'across the board' as it is described. My build has slowly been pulled up after initially being pushed back many months. Paint was locked a while ago, though.
Agree. I think suppliers are the issue. Don’t overlook the subsequent cascade effect where relatively small shortages and delays ripple and amplify through the system. PTS and CXX both involve 3rd party suppliers fulfilling custom orders on time.
Mine's a Christmas present. I'm just grateful to get one.
If your worry is waiting an extra few months for a dream car, you've made it in life.
What if we have a terrible curse placed on us by a gypsy arcade machine at a carnival? That upon the eve of the 2018 winter solstice, our right hands will shrivel into a tiny grotesque nubbin', unable to shift the gears of any sports car. So we're like... super eager to get our cars and drive it a bit before that happens.

As long as said curse doesn't affect my ****, I'm okay.

True. Small delays can cause the entire deck to get reshuffled.
my March '18 GT3 ordered last Sept. is still on track to finish production March 23rd as of status today (3/15) - it's shift around bit over time - but so far it still looks to be completed and on schedule to be leaving port on March 30th…which has always been the schedule
I know people say they are not batching PTS, but there are now 5 grigio telesto (Z69) on Will's ptsrs Instagram within less than two weeks (March 2-March 15 - today). GT3 at Circle Porsche, Riverside, Austin, Towson, and a GT2RS at Gelderland in the Netherlands.
I think that is pretty definitive that PTS IS batched.

As best as I understand it, production has been suspended for ~3 weeks in April; (based on the dates for my car on the build system) my car was originally scheduled to enter the bodyshop (V260) on 3/30
and was due to exit (V270) and enter (V280) on 4/13 and exit (V300) on 4/20, and now the expected dates are 5/25, 6/8 and 6/15 respectively, at a first approximation, I'd say that any car that begins production
prior to 3/30 is "safe" ... anyone thereafter will potentially be impacted.
Krap. I was an “expected March 30th entry to body shop build.”
My car is a radio delete car (personal preference, leave me alone), so car must be build before May since all cars produced from May 2018 must have a back camera per US regulations, i.e, my car then will have the damn radio.
Oh well. I have an allocation and a commission number. I am actually excited and very, very thankfully lol
looking at my internal build dates, your car and mine were due to enter the bodyshop in the same day - I'd say you need to check with your SA ... I hate to say it but I think there is a good chance your car will have suffered the same fate as mine...
it is close I'm afraid... since it appears that its approx 2 wks from entry to exit (which of course it really isn't) ... better check with your SA to see if the dates have moved out...

I am still on schedule for a 03/23 entry and a 04/06 exit.It could go either way, I make it under the wire or I’m delayed. FWIW the planned and expected date for entry into bodyshop are the same dates 03/23, its the exit dates that changed from 03/30 to 04/06.

hope this is useful for others...
YMMV
Unless you are already past your original dates, don't stress it too much. There is a good chance is can switch back and go into production by your original date (or close to it). This has happened with several builds this year and they still end up arriving close to the original date. Production timing is very volatile right now and keeps being reshuffled every few days on all GT cars due to PTS volume and special production models (like the Exc Series and new Turbo Saffron paint process), or so I hear...
