I looked at the dealer system for the car. It'll show the latest expected dates. Where are you located and what was your expected delivery date?
BTW, I was told the factory closes on August 6th.

GT3rs, if you didn't order weissach before today, they have put a hold on it and pts. PTS if open, may not be till spring 2019. Was at dealer today. Kind of crazy, can't order weissach or pts for now...

You are right the factory doesn't close until the 6th of August..........I meant closed for the workday, today (Friday).

Ahh... I got worried seeing a few people say shutdown had taken effect since my car’s been an extra week at Exclusive custom tailoring.

Wow, it's bad enough you can't get PTS and now no WP....what the heck is going on?

The hold on Weissach is really unfortunate... I assume that won't improve for several weeks

Getting tired of this BS. How can you build these cars and not forecast for enough parts?

I flew to exclusive in Atlanta to pick 30k in options, then PTS and CXX on my .2 GT3 (not RS) were blocked a few days before my build opened. Then sapphire (the color I chose as the alternative) was rejected due to its discontinuation. I brought the issue up with exclusive and they were cool and understanding of my frustration. They would try accommodate my PTS RS. Today I find out via SA that I can’t have a 240k car the way I want it. No PTS and no WP (on top of wheels I couldn’t spec). Jeebus I’m starting to think a CGT is the best option because I’m not Porsche royalty to win the PTS lottery. /first world problem rant

To chime in, I also requested a CXX option a few months back and was told it was a no-go.

ha! I’m curious as well; last year my GT3 ED got cancelled at last minute due to German regulations. this year I’m already scheduled for ED in September for my 3RS, build locked a long time ago. I have WP, so will be interesting to see what I’ll actually drive off with! I’m somewhat expecting a loaner vehicle again with all these WP issues arising.

Too many people are requesting PTS and WP. It’s one thing to forecast the number of cars they need to make, the hard thing is forecasting how many customers are willing to part with an additional $13k for PTS and $18k for WP. Not to mention $13k for Mag wheels. I bet very few people at PAG expected the take rate that they are getting on these options. At this point, they are better off not offering the options than giving away free hoods, wheels, etc... Their bean counters are probably going crazy.

Have now had the car for two weeks. In that time I have done 1,800km inc 300kms on track at Spa.

Some brief observations:
  • Noise inside: it is quieter inside than my Touring
  • Engine: cannot feel any real difference in the power of the engine compared to my GT3.2 PDK or Touring. If anything, the last 1,000kms feels a bit harsh and a bit forced. It doesn't sing to the redline like the 3.8 GT3.
  • Ride: certainly rides much firmer around town but smooths out incredibly at speed. Its firmer but not harsh.
  • Sound: initially the sound of exhaust was the same as the GT3.2 but surprisingly after 300kms on track it is now a lot louder and throatier. I suspect the change in sound is because the titanium exhaust has now gone through a good number of high heat cycles as a result of the track work. Sounds nice and more special now.
  • Wind Buffeting: surprisingly the wind buffeting with the windows down is much, much less. To the extent that you can now drive at 140kph with the windows down no problem. I checked the small front window triangles to see if the design had changed but they are the same as my Touring and my GT3.2 PDK. I suspect that the wider front guards and the raised wheel well vents have altered the airflow to the benefit of less wind buffeting.
  • Handling: Turn-in is sharper for sure and grip levels are higher but it is much twitcher at the limit. The GT3.2 is friendlier at the limit IMO.
  • Gas cap: lastly, the std aluminium gas cap, which btw I would never have ordered, is actually a small delight very time you fill the tank.

So strange that it’s quieter then the Touring? Why would that be??
Less wind buffeting is a nice welcome surprise, currently even with the wings on the A Pillar triangle we still get head wobble at 200+ speeds so maybe if we add those it’s fine on the .2RS.
