If there is no other reason than to call them MY 2019
without any changes, it just seems to be unusual.

MY2018 in June.
We don't really know when PAG will switch
from MY2018 to MY2019. If it happens in
June 2018 before your scheduled date of
production, it will be a MY2019. If the
switch happens after June 2018, you will
indeed end up with one of the last MY2018!

After that why change early? Normally car manufacturers
will make an early MY when there are significant year to
year differences. Otherwise, the MY normally would change
with the rest of the cars for that manufacturer for a new
MY. That would be normal industry practice.

But some are supposedly receiving late 2018 allocations
as 2019 cars, but I don't know the specifics, so who knows?

Perhaps the long awaiting Touring option is really behind
this early model year change over you believe will happen.
That would make sense since it is a significant option and
merit an early change of a MY for any car manufacturer.

The reason that I think my car is a 2018 is it stands to
reason that the PTS production run given out (if in fact
we all receive PTS) would be completed in the current
model year.

It may be the 2011 10th aniversay chinese market turbo color from 2011 as that is the only reference to the name I can find.

I mean I saw it on the list, its on the old list that is public, I am just wondering if I am right that is the color or it is something different so if anyone has seen it on a PTS car. I consider it my second best google foo find (behind laser green metallic which I had high hopes for but do not like).

My dealer now told me there are 3 PTS confirmed cars for my dealer.
1 guy from the forum here, 1 car for me and 1 car for the dealer. (Slate Grey) Dealer car is week 47.

got my .2 allocation, April 18th build, requesting ED, and PTS (Z12) voodoo blue.

I'll be very interested to see how this is handled by PCNA. Here's what I answered in a PM to someone in a similar situation. This is all based on the assumption that PTS with this current GT3 model ends in June:
The problem with a January allocation is that is not enough lead time (they want 6 months) to order, plan and build your PTS order before June, so technically you are out of the window. Germans are rule based so I think even though that is a ridiculous amount of time from now to June they just won't consider it based on your original production allocation. Now, I could be completely wrong here and PCNA has complete flexibility to move your order around to make it work- but that may just be too hard with a lot of people making PTS requests right now and very limited spaces left and few if any production allocations open that have the lead time of six months- or, better yet PAG doesn't care and everyone is accommodated up until all the PTS slots are filled, regardless of your original PTS production month.
So where this leaves you is that there is enough ambiguity that I would press your dealer to submit it via the ZPT process and see what happens. It could just linger at V110 which means PCNA has filled the slots or the lead time is not long enough. But you could get lucky and it gets a slot and goes through.
So please update us as this develops! Maybe PTS production is extended well beyond June, maybe in August or there is another PTS round in the fall. This might give us answers to those questions.

sorry I don't understand what it is you are saying, my build is April '18, which is 8 months away... are you saying that the PTS window does not open until June '18?

Of course I'm chilling down those beers now because we are seeing more info on MY 2019- HOWEVER, they stay in the cooler until we see your FAT LADY SING, since at this point nobody has seen a commission attached yet to a MY 2019- dealers just say they have them, but can't enter it yet...
Oh by the way, last night checking in and reading your thread, just as I got to the FAT LADY- BOOM!! my MacBook Pro crashes, never to recover. SSHD too! At Apple Care now for repair for a week. I think that's a sign.... maybe I should drink some beer now????
