Not anything concrete but talked to my dealer today and he clarified that my allocation went from September to March when we did the PTS option. It still sits on V180 but both the GM and GSM said it will be approved, almost like they knew something I didn't.
I highly doubt that MY 2019 for GT3 starts in June,
more likely it stays MY 2018 through December.
Based on what, Andre? That would not make any sense.
When the MY2016 gt3 RS production run was extended
into what is normal MY2017 dates, it made sense to
keep it MY2016 because it was the old body style of the
.1 991 & would needlessly confused the public. And it
might have also had something to do that PAG had not
intended to do such a large production number of gt3 RS
& something in the .1 991 gt3 RS might not have been
up to the regulations required to be considered a MY2017
for the US Government.
But I don't see any reason to keep after June/July 2018
production .2 991 gt3s MY2018 & not referred to them
as MY2019. The bodies are not changing. And their
motors will meet US regulations at a MY2019. So why
not call them MY2019?
And remember that the Model Year system has more
meaning in the US than in Europe due to the normal
European car registration system which is mostly calendar
year based.
My dos centavos for what it's worth.

Sooner than later PAG will be coaxed by some
big-swinging-you-know-what with a fat wallet
to allow this 'Club Blau', presently exclusive
to the PCA's 60th Anniversary Club Coupe GTS,
to be done on their Porsche custom order. And
sadly it might meet the same fate as that of
'Brewster Green', 'Sport Classic Grey', 'Pure
Blue', 'Geyser Grey Metallic' and other hues
that were once 'exclusive' to a 'Limited Edition'.
All these venerable hues were slowly permitted
to be ordered as PTS...in slow drip fashion.
Not often have any of these colors actually
appeared in the 'Approved PTS List' that we
talk about here at Rennlist all the time. In
fact, only 'Brewster' has the distinction of
having officially made it into that published
list. The others have been silently & without
fan-fare allowed to be selected by some customers
in an ad-hoc basis & in the cover of darkness!
Bottom line is that very little is sacred today
at Porsche if it stands in the way of 'pleasing'
their wealthy VIPs! It would make 'Irma', an
experiended working girl, blush to see how
effective PAG is at relieving a client of their
money in exchange for 'simple pleasures'!

Just based on my opinion. Nothing more. If there is no other reason than to call them MY 2019 without any changes, it just seems to be unusual. Certainly I stand by my opinion that my car will stay MY2018 in June. After that why change early? Normally car manufacturers will make an early MY when there are significant year to year differences. Otherwise, the MY normally would change with the rest of the cars for that manufacturer for a new MY. That would be normal industry practice. But some are supposedly receiving late 2018 allocations as 2019 cars, but I don't know the specifics, so who knows? Perhaps the long awaiting Touring option is really behind this early model year change over you believe will happen. That would make sense since it is a significant option and merit an early change of a MY for any car manufacturer.
The reason that I think my car is a 2018 is it stands to reason that the PTS production run given out (if in fact we all receive PTS) would be completed in the current model year.
This is where Mexico Blue appears to have green in it, especially compared to Riviera! Really does not do justice to Mexico Blue, unless someone switched the paint cans with Miami Blue.
Do you guys think they'll ever allow Club Blau for PTS? Really love this color.
probably not. But Nogaro Blue (an Audi color originally that was popular of B5 generation S4 and RS4) was approved for Porsche 911 PTS recently. It's very very similar to Club Blau. Google it and you'll see some good pics of a 991.2 C2S that was the first one someone took Euro delivery of.

I really appreciate seeing all these blues together in same pic under same lighting, despite them looking quite different on these samples and in this light that they tend to appear on the cars themselves in typical lighting the cars are seen in. At least it helps see their relative differences from one another.
Too bad bad you couldn't have also snuck in to same arrangement other blues like Nogaro and Miami, which I'm sure many would like to see side by side against Voodoo and Riviera/Mexico, respectively.
