Did you get this directly from Top Gear or through the California distributor?

Directly from site https://www.topgear.co.uk/porsche-98..._type=exhausts

I ordered single wall exhaust tips from Turner. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-turner-m...374tms04-01~a/

Had to make a couple relief cuts in the tips to get them to slide over, they just barely didn't fit but with the cuts they did and just clamp right down.

The reason I ask, is that I ordered from the California distributor of Top Gear and wasn't told it was shipping from the UK!

Ahh, well mine came pretty quick. Like a week or so after the order, so I'd think yours should come quick.

Prep work today and tomorrow, these are going on Monday.

Mid-August, I got a bad set of mis-fires on a cold start-up. A blip of the throttle and it went away. It did this a few more times over the next few days.

I finally looked into more of my problem of cold misfires. I was told (here and by another tech) it was more an ignition coil problem, but the missing didn't continue after the car warmed. Last week, I did replace all 6 as they were originals. Still had the misses. I'm replacing both manifold/cats with aftermarket high-flow cats and SS headers from Top Gear.
Headers are mating to a Soul exhaust system installed in June.
I got my local good car repair guy here to do the job. He has 2 older guys (like me!) that work for him. The 3 of us put the Boxster on the lift and looked it over. One is a long-time auto guy from OI Borton Volvo. They agreed it should be easy, but quoted me 4 hrs labor, what I expected. I'm getting new 02 sensors, before and after, gaskets, manifold and muffler, and 12 manifold bolts. With installation, about $2500, again, kinda what I expected. We all say 'hope no manifold bolts snap.'

I have the Top Gear exhaust and super happy with it! It's a great deal considering what others are charging for similar systems. Mine is the non-valved version. Fairly loud, but not obnoxious! I got mine from the distributor in Miami

Oil & filter change (8,000 miles… apparently I’ve been too busy to notice I flew past my usual 5,000 mile mark). Zero metal in filter or on the magnetic drain plug, oil consumption over this stretch of about 300ml total. Pulled sample to send to Speed Diagnostix, per usual.

Replace spark plugs (been 4 years and about 57,000 miles since I changed plugs and replaced the original coil packs). Plugs came in and out without a hitch. Coil packs all looked good and showed no cracks or issues. You may recall that when I replaced the original coil packs, 5 of the 6 showed visible cracks. Age seemed to be the issue as they were already about 13 years old at that time. Hardest part is getting a torque wrench ok to position. Minimal blood loss.

Quick wash and wax before heading out for fun autumn night.

Plugs still look reasonably good.

Crazy amount of jack-o-lanterns on display. Followed with dinner with friends.

Default Tasteful Moddies

I recently purchased a 2007 Cayman S manual a couple weeks ago. Since then I’ve been going to town. Original pic first. Then what I’ve done. She’s a beautiful beast now.
-short shifter
-raceseng shift **** + fresh Napa leather boot
-GT3 carbon fiber steering wheel
-weather tech floor mats
-cig outlet converted to USB charger
-ceramic tint windows 15%
-IPD plenum upgrade + GT3 throttle body
-clear engine cover (love this with a clean engine bay and same sound dampening as OEM)
-Soul Cat back exhaust upgrade
-Intake Snorkel delete with mesh cover
-BMC air filter
-OZ Leggera 19” rims gloss black
-LED lighting interior and exterior
-LED headlights
-LED fog kit
-LED burgundy tail lights
-LED smoked side indicators

definitely took some time to do these myself - IPD took a minute but wasn’t horrible. Exhaust super easy. The main issue I have is now is upgrading head unit has been a HEADache (bose premium system). Finally going to have professional finish the job. Unfortunately the amp isn’t getting signal despite new fiber optic cables/kit/harness/much troubleshooting.

But it’s okay because I can’t stop listening to the soul exhaust for now..

Today?

Moved the Cayman from it's place angled into the shop (insulated space at the left in the back of the 20x50 building) into the garage (uninsulated space in the front of the building. Next I will skate the Stag over to the left and square it up. The Stag won't be on the road again until next summer. The Cayman will be enjoyed until the first salt threatens.

Next I will install the Atlas chassis lift in the right of the shop. Put the Race-Ramp low-riser strips on both sides. Then I can drive the Cayman straight into the shop and park it over the lift. Then the Fusion can go on the left side of the garage and the big-block Suburban can park on the right side of the garage.

This will allow me to get the Cayman out easily and be able to drive it straight into the shop to park. Easy access to the lift for all three cars ( the Suburban is probably a bridge too far for the weight rating of the lift ).

I never had a chassis lift before because the Elise does not play well with them.. Right after the Elise drove away, a guy I know put his Atlas / Race-Ramp rig up for sale...

UPDATE: Whoa, butt-dyno sez 'smoother and way quicker' I'm pleased.
Just got back from the shop to have new headers/cats installed, Top Gear. Mated perfectly to the Soul Exhaust.
'05 Boxster, 115K miles

Old manifolds came off easy, treaded with PB Blast

Mated up nicely.

Tech said the passenger side was the highest spacing to get at the 02 cables

Now, off for a drive!

Installed Avalon King last Wednesday and finally brought it out in the sun! It definitely provides more gloss.

Finally upgraded head unit - that was a PITA because that’s Axxess fiber optic conversion box was faulty which was very difficult to diagnose (diagnosis of exclusion), so was finally sent a new replacement and then good to go. Raceseng shift **** and new Napa leather boot cover. Rennline phone mount. Also converted center console compartment cigarette outlet to high speed dual usb chargers with battery voltage reading. Has on off switch. Finally coming together.
