Not going too fast, just have about a half inch crack in the paint although one side of the crack is lifted up a bit. Not sure it's worth getting an accident report, but I'm waiting for one anyway.
Deer probably had a broken leg, but was totalled by cars and trucks before I could get to it, some folks just ignore emergency flashers...

Kjjones: Sorry to read this. I hope the damage to your car is minimal.
Don't know where you live, but we're experiencing an extraordinarily active rut this year in northern Georgia and deer are moving around like crazy. It makes driving between sunset and sunrise especially dangerous, but I've seen more deer crossing roads in broad daylight this year than I've seen in a long time. There's nothing dumber than a buck focused on the scent of an "in season" doe.

Be careful out there.
oddly enough last weekend we saw this group of deer just standing here… traffic everywhere!! We stopped and I was less than 5ft from them. Didn’t even flinch at my close proximity..
my son took the pics from inside the car… there are a lot running around here this year too
TMc993- this happened near our vacation place in northwest lower Michigan about 7PM or so. Probably not much damage unless repairing a half inch crack where the paint on one side raised up a couple mms is expensive being a Porsche...

like trying to make it safely through the local high school parking lot on prom night.
I bought my first Porsche 2 months ago, a black Spyder and have been immensely enjoying it. Of course with my luck, in typical 987 fashion, the shifter cables snapped on me on the way home. Knocked that out with some Numeric cables. Not a particularly hard job but definitely a pain in the *** and tedious . I'll probably end up getting the shifter too after the new year and put that in, not too fond of the plastic unit that Porsche is using, and I'd like it to feel even remotely as nice as my S2000 gearbox
You have already accomplished the tough part, so yea, you will really like the Numeric shifter. In my opinion it is transforming. Worth every cent.
But as much of an improvement as it is, it's not going to be S2000 or even Miata precise. That's just not possible with cables.
I drove it, with great joy, as always. My 2nd Cayman, 987.2 S with Softronic remap of ECU for 355+ hp. Had it 8 years, now have 95k miles on it and plan to never sell it. No newer Cayman is worth changing to, the 987.2 S was the peak (apart from a GT4).

2011 Porsche Cayman S in Meteor Grey, 3.4L, Softronics ECU tune 355+hp , PDK w/Sport Chrono. Bose Sound, clear markers, Bi-Xenon directional headlights - my 2nd Cayman, had it since 2013. Got this thing for mid-engine Porsche's.......1976 9142.0 in Scarlet Red from LA area/almost zero rust, 60k mis., great condition, Webber 44's installed by Porsche dealer at PO's request. Running perfectly when parked and abandoned in friend's new barn in 2005. Now running well, fixing lotsa little things, fine tuning. Original color was L30C, Malaga Red, car will be returned to that ASAP. Also, 1980 924 Turbo, 58k miles, great condtion, being restored,
I figure if and when my 2006 987.1 3.4 engine gives up the ghost, I'll rebuild it, and keep on keepin' on. I do love this car so.
The best thing about that strategy is that it immediately nukes the "worry" that so many have in the back of their mind, which does nothing but steal some measure of the magic of these unique cars.
I took a similar approach and actually acquired a brand new rebuilt motor in a crate. There is absolutely nothing wrong with my current motor but with a guarantee sitting in the barn I can just drive it like I believe it was designed to be driven. It's so intoxicating.
Curious as to cost, if that is not too indiscrete?
Flat 6 Innovations used to have a program called "The Stocker". Basically they built the motors to their standards but at stock power.
But as we all know, they now only have time and resources allocated to building their high-end motors.
Anyways, I saw somewhere on the forum that Jake mentioned a lone stocker motor in inventory and I reached out. I was thrilled when he said I could purchase it for $8500 plus shipping.
Like I said, I probably will never need it, but it's mentality like an extended warranty in the back of my mind.
