Nice! Been looking at getting a quickjack, but I like the height on this one. How easy is it to move around when not in use? Any clearance issues with the 987?

Busy 8 days working on Cayman while weather is cool and comfortable in Florida. Painted right door and right front quarter, added front spoiler and painted it, added new carbon fiber eyelids and sanded down the headlights to bring back clearness. If anyone needs advice on installing this front spoiler let me know. The spoiler is really breathtaking. Gives the car a different lower stance than before.

Great job painting your Cayman! Looks really fantastic. My front bumper could use a respray, but I don't think I have the confidence to do it myself. Are you a paint and body guy normally?

No, I am ex mechanic, but decided to perfect this trade. Always painting my motorcycles, its good practice. Bumpers are a little more tricky as they require special blend to keep paint more elastic. Make sure you tell the paint supplier that you are painting a flexible bumper.

true story… I always found it interesting how plastic never matches metal… even if you used the same paint mix… looks good tho!

porsche had those darker colors for a while and appear like a colored black almost.. yours, atlas gray and that green color… hope that makes sense?

Thank you, the 6 hours of wet sanding is the killer, By the time I was finished my Iphone finger print mechanism would not recognize my finger print, My finger print was almost gone from the sandpaper, lol.

But the end result is flawless.

Looks great!! Yes sanded does that and I usually have rubber gloves. Between the sanding and the chemicals it really drys out the hands… looks like 2500-3000g sanding?

great job… metallics aren’t fun

I never use gloves, I tried them but found that I felt hot, probably being in Florida. finished with 3000 grit and then compound and polish. This paint is tricky as it changes color in the sun and is very translucent. So if you are not careful you can see through it.

yes indeed your correct… atlas gray is kinda like that too (painted wing)… Florida, ya in the heat/dew point your hands sweat so bad with them on it’s crazy

I think the green color you refer to is Dark Olive Metallic (which happens to be the color of my 06 Boxster S) which is indeed nearly black, unless in bright sunlight with polarized sunglasses, looks amazing then.

Cheers,
Julian.

Funny how colors change during the day and night. I think we all have a favorite time of day for the color. Mine favorite for the Carmona Red is right before sun sets and worse is with full sun on it. Its so different between the two times of the day.

I especially dislike mine in the Fall/Spring when the sun is low (mn) during the day… this wasnt my first pic, but it’s okay… I have a white 997 so they compliment each other
