I will take the hoses to work to cut them. We have several sizes of electrical cable cutters that should work well, like this: Cable Cutter. Here's one of the tools we use on the bigger cables there - we call it the Red Snapper.

I think they are, but you are the first one to compare them side-by-side since I didn't have new pins when I did mine and had to reuse my old ones.
Yes, the pins are an exact match for the original ones and plugged straight into the old plug..

Not one to get your fingers near 😀. Don’t forget to tape where you want to cut. The braid becomes a wild thing post.

Thanks for the tip. I will definitely tape it. Yeah, you don't want to bite yourself with the red snapper. It wouldn't even know your finger was there.

I usually pull the cam cover and oil the chain and pads. pulling the dme relay and giving it a few ten second cranks with a twenty second rest helps priming the oil passages.

Yeah I pull the DME and do the same. I've never done anything else.

Finally installed the front spoiler I originally purchased for the red cabriolet. Thankfully I procrastinated a few years until I picked up SY cabriolet #3. And that was about 5 years ago!

Absolutely gorgeous cab..!! I am a complete sucker for 968 in bright colors and a speed yellow is right up there in the top 3 of the best most vivid colors.. Two questions.. Is the spoiler a copy of the Turbo S spoiler.? And how does a cab drive on those nice looking 18" Carrera wheels.?

I was told to pull the DME and crank it a few times until my oil pressure gauge moved.
Won't be does this for awhile however....

Default Hood Insulation

Did you have to remove the hood insulation(if you had any)? I do. Any idea about clearance?
Is it a DIY job, or do you need to get a new alignment after? Looks Great.

Yogii you say you have a hood insulation. Is it OEM or is it aftermarket? I can't recall ever seeing a 968 with hood insulation installed. Then again I have not seen many 968s in person. Does it reduce engine noise? Any info on your hood insulation will be much appreciated.
Thanks

You know you could be right. I just assumed...
None of my photos show the underside of the hood. Car is put away and far away.
I have just heard that clearance can be an issue with shock tower braces. That one looks great!

Thanks, Alex. I think the 968 in Speed Yellow just looks different than any other color, not sure why. It just carries it so well. I've this car's twin in Guards Red and even the neighbors think they're different models.
To answer your questions, the spoiler I believe is a copy of the Turbo S spoiler, yes. I purchased 7-ish years ago from a member here, and it arrived in a box with Carnewal shipping info on it. The part itself had the Porsche triangle stamp and a Porsche part number molded into it, which was slightly (and apparently intentionally) scuffed off prior to my receiving it. It fits the car like a glove, after a test fit and the drilling of some holes to line up with those in the batwing.
As for the ride quality on those MY02 wheels... tight! The wheels are pretty light and give the car a very "honest" feel of the road. But I also have a Brey-Krauss chassis brace AND an RSBarn strut brace installed in this car. (And the red one, too!) So that's certainly a contributing factor.
