the thread is pretty current. I haven’t done much in last year just driving it. It’s in now getting a custom rear crash/bumper bar for some extra heat shielding clearance and a few little tweaks here and there.

been building a motor for my orange car.

next would be a hot 4L.

Cap: 91162807700 $38
Pump: 431955651 $12 (MES Brand)
Pump grommet: 431955465B $12
Screw: N01021513 M6 x 15 (hex head) $3
Washer: N0116667 M6.4 $1
Rubber Sleeve: 91161241300 $3.25
Hose: 99918172240 5m 4.6 x 8.2
Okay, stupid question time.

I ordered all the parts to do the RS Washer Tank Conversion, but I can't see where the pump grommet and the rubber sleeve go. Help?

Also, I assume the screw and washer are used to attach the tank to the mounting point, and guess they sent me the wrong washer as the washer doesn't fit into the mounting area?
If that's right, I can just substitute a smaller washer, I'll handle the $0.43 loss.

Iirc the pump grommet goes in bottom of tank and pump inserts into it
the rubber sleeve may be used if you run washer hose into body. Can you post pics of the 2 parts?

The 4 parts are in the diagram as:
22
30
31
24

I'm going off memory as it was a few years ago. I didn't end up using 24 as i routed the hose up by the shock tower, If you want to route the hose like it was on the RS you'd drill the fender and use that grommet
I also recall the washer being odd and not fitting, i found one that worked.

#22 shows how the grommet goes to the pump and holds the pump to the canister

I saw you were talking abut gearing a couple years ago. Did you ever go forward with that or did you stick with stock? Any transmission upgrades?

You know when you have good intentions and well you just enjoy whatcha' got? I'm there with the red car right now... its at BBI getting some tweaks to the exhaust (whats on the floor is my "on road setup" )

I never settled here on a direction, will likely wait until I build the motor...

It seems like I have been living under a rock as I have just come across your thread. Super cool stuff here and love your car!

Who are you going to get to build your 4.0L?

Ha yeah, my insanity on this car started a while back. It's really the way I like it. Engine/Trans, maybe a change to an Ohlins TTX damper at some point... I just drive it, a lot.

I use BBI Autosport almost exclusively for many, many years on all my cars ( I do have a great shop that works on my 71 for some of the 'old car stuff'). They would build the engine. They are currently starting assembly on my 2.8L for my '71. You can see link to that in my signature.

Awesome! And BBI seems like a seriously quality outfit. Looking forward to seeing the next stage of your build.

Glad to hear you are enjoying the car!
