Burning Brakes
Do these type of wheels have to be periodically serviced? Or is it bc you drive and track the car a lot that it eventually happens?

Bummer...actually didn’t realize that it would leak from there. I’d probably try to dap some silicon on it........ but then my OCD would kick in and I would take the wheel off and get it fixed. If you need someone to do it, I may have the guy for you. He’s a wheel nut and enjoys doing it. It’s not his full time job just passionate about it. He was going to pull apart all 4 of my wheels, repaint the faces and reassembly for just under $400. I had scratched one wheel face, wound up have Pacific Paint Match do it as they were touching up my wives and daughters car.
it’s an option if you need it.

Many bbs are siliconed sealed from the inside from the factory. Bbs RS for example. There is lots of info on how to do it online. I'm not sure if the E88's have the same configuration in regards to the inside seam but if so the silicone would mean never having to deal with this again..... unless you bend a rim. I suppose the down side would be a bit of extra weight- but its not enough that anyone would ever notice.

E88 just have a sealing ring between the halfs
i think I’m just going to rebuild all 4
new rings hardware and probably run a silicone bead on the half split after assembly
these are mostly street wheels. About 5 years old and 2 of them have leaks now.
the set on my gt3rs are airtight after more years and a LOT of track time
ill probably just have shop do it as the tires have to be removed....

Will hopefully have my 71 engine done around end of year.
will turn attention to the 964.
im thinking engine and trans gearing now. Them I’m done.
im thinking, something non traditional:
3.6 or 3.8
8k redline
full motec engine controls
itb gt3 type plenum
e85 support
a couple small turbos
target 500hp or so
i like n/a but you just can’t match the power of a turbo motor, and getting this sort of power out of na reliably is really really big $ so it can spin....
plus torque around town and in canyons is so fun....
hmmm........

Love the idea of Turbos! Any idea on what a 3.6 Twin turbo motor would run versus doing just a 3.8 build? In my head I'm thinking the cost would be similar but I have no idea. I have been trying to figure out what I'm going to do on mine as I think it time to up the power. Funny I hardly drive my 964 anymore as it just doesn't have the fun factor as my '74 that has nearly the same horsepower and weights 800 pounds less. Keep the info coming as I'm super curious on the Turbo Avenue.

I would hold off on any gearing changes until you do the engine build otherwise you might be doing that twice but it is key to a build like this.
GL looking forward to seeing what you decide to do.

I don't agree. When properly done you will be hard pressed to tell the differences other than the added power. It is all in the tune.
