No, they are good. So are the 2 sets I have for my RS. If they are leaking they need to have a new gasket installed and the bolts torqued right. As a last resort you could put silicone, but I don't think its needed.

Awesome post HiWind.
Nah

Nah, I "LIKE" the sunroof! Keeping it skinny, and with the SR. Its a street car! (mostly).

Everything I'm doing is reversible, well except that cage (at least easily) and the removal of the insulation.

But, I enjoy my cars, and well, I like to drive them at their (well my) limit and w/o some sense of safety equipment in this car, I am not pushing it hard. That's the main reason. And well, it will look cool. And stiffen up the chassis a bit.

Ah the interior strip... fond memories. When I did it I found the carpet alone dampened the tinny high frequencies just enough (no deadening). As a comparison the RS M002(?) only has deadening over the shifter tunnel (center console) and floorboards. Still very raw but much more tolerable with the carpet than without, IMO.

DECISION TIME:

Sunroof in or out? BBI has a fabricator they're working with and just did a panel for a 993 an well, it looks amazing. All metal, custom panel, no filler.

Almost done with the **** job of pulling out the glue.

Goes to cage builder next week unless I decide to fill that roof... there are advantages, like the hoop can go much higher. I will not do a full cage, though. If I did it would be integrated into the roof structure and 'hidden'.

Windows down is enough... sunroof out. (so many benefits)

How about deleting rain gutters too... or am I getting greedy.

Finalized build list. Going to skip a full repaint. I like it with patina :-)

Car is stripped down, sunroof starts in a week, then to the cage builder, then paint for cage/roof and some of the add on bits...

I can never sell this car, will lose my a$$

Phase II will be at some point, big motor, etc. car will forever stay skinny and kinda stealthy.
At some point a repaint in OEM color...
