I am doing it myself too! I am in the process of cutting out the sunroof cassette, i think i am about half way there. I am still considering my options, weld or glue, use existing panel or use the fennlane panel. Would love to exchange experiences.

Ive seen jobs with using existing, fennlane, custom (like mine). I'd highly suggest the fennlane or custom. When using the existing panel you need a lot of fill metal to make it work.

Oh car has this on it already. Mpl clutch cylinder. I like the way it feels.
Under body will get a power wash scrub and detail before reassembly.
Its at cage builder now.

In regards to the MPL clutch slave, did you just email them to purchase one? I ask because I sent an email 10 days ago and haven't heard back, and I'm afraid to call because I don't speak German lol.

My car had it already from the previous owner.

Just call them. I bet they speak English fine. Also check eBay they often sell there.

The MPL really helps with heavy clutches although I did notice it adds a bit to the throw to get it to fully disengage the clutch.

I would have to agree - anything but the original panel...

Visited the cage builder Monday. He had 3D scanned the interior and had a cad model of the design. This will be pretty basic rear cage. Plates welded to sill area, x bars in front hoop and rear through firewall to rear shock towers. Front hoop nice and tight below the headliner. They’ve done quite a few 993 and 964 and have a good design sorted. The 3D models allow for precise fab before the parts are welded in the car.

Before welding.

How do you plan to deal with the seat belt shoulder mounting points?

for ideal placement for minimal bends and clearance of the main hoop the bar will be placed behind the b pillar slightly so will allow use of stock mounting positions on the b pillar.
