1990, 2010, 2020 all good years for cars

 

After market indicators have arrived from Design911. Less than half the cost of Porsche Original. I’m very happy.

 

It’s looking good! Are you nearly ready for the concours or do you still need to complete a few tasks?

I hope not as well. The brand is Retro Light. There’s no other info. They look ok. It’s hard to stuff up a non moving part.

 

I have done the soft interior clean. This weekend it’s glass, wheels and wheel arches. Next weekend I’ll do the paint.

 

How hard is it to pull those vents from the dash?

 

Looks good, color seems to match wel with the center reflector as well. Is this a new or old center reflector?
Looking at the rear light units, don't these need the rubber seals (parts n° 96463142000 and 96463142100) which are not needed anymore on the genuine replacement part?

Relatively easy. Undo the screw on the side then reach under the dash and pull the vent forward slightly rocking it up and down. It’s held in by four metal spring tabs (two on top and two on the bottom) and the rocking motion helps make sure none are caught on the sides. The rear is a slip fit into the hose.

 

The centre reflector is Porsche Original and approximately 5 years old.

The aftermarket lights came with the rubber gaskets. I’ve never used them before. They are a loose fit. I will try them today with the gaskets.

I tried fitting the rubber gasket to the lights. It was a no go getting the light unit into the housing with those in place.

 

Wheel wells. One of my least favourite jobs. It would be great to have a wet room and a lift.

Concours light preparation is finished. I even did the glass under the 993 rear brake light.
