Scott I didn't see it initially as the car wasn't on my radar but picked up on it after a second look. With all the cars for sale and the ones I am trying to help import I am busier than ever. That Violet blue metallic turbo was just the beginning. I was travelling so I don't do well with responding from my phone. But I did pick up on many issues that I haven't even touched on. I spend a lot of time at my friends shop helping restore these. Air-cooled 911's are his specialty but he is also the approved McLaren shop authorized to do work on Senna's and others that the dealerships aren't allowed to touch.

We get a bit carried away with the welds and how they should look and the nuances very few shops waste time on. It is all in the details and his work has been published in Excellence, Pano, 000 and other magazines. He spends countless hours making sure everything is as it left the factory where he can. I have learned so much working alongside him occasionally over the past 7 years. He is currently restoring a 912 prototype which is supposed to be featured in 000 magazine. Everything on the car was custom made by hand to make it work and you can see it when comparing it to a production 912. He will replicate everything from photos and we use no filler if possible or use factory technics. Being a visual inspector for aerospace and military applications as one of my many jobs in my prior life has taught me to be able to look at things others usually can't see. I have spent so many hours working and focusing on 964's especially I can easily find the smoking gun. In this case it was the smoking cannon.

GL on sueing. This is very reminiscent of the 80's grey market and near the end before product dried up and the economy turned the same thing happened. Junk became the norm and people were hungry to buy anything.

IMO do not trust anyone no matter how good the reputation. I would never sell one of my cars without insisting on the buyer having an independent PPI done. Although I don't plan to sell any. I have seen cars sold as original paint from some of the most respected and well known names only to find drip marks and all sorts of obvious signs showing a full respray. In this case being a one family owned car it is possible they can do something but the courts favor the crooks. I don't like to trash anyones sale so long as they are honest. When I hear an obvious lie I know I can back up with fact I will point it out and people call me a hater for that.

If you go to the post #679 on the suspension madness thread...you see a pic of a targa...we ( meaning only me as an intermediary) sold it to an old old friend of mine out in California..., which subsequently continued the madness. Kept it well, etc. was a great car when it was out here..someone in the New York area should bring it home to us...

Interesting targa I saw a few years back. The workmanship appeared to be top notch and car presented well. I was not a fano fthe wheel size but otherwise worth consideration as a very nice driver.

I have posted my car on PCA.org and Dorkiphus.net. Won't let me post on rennlist for some reason. Thanks for all the help on building this car Rennlist. The people and their knowledge of these cars on the forums is truly incredible. It was a blast to build and drive. https://dorkiphus.net/porsche/showthread.php?t=41843

Seems way too much product suddenly hitting the market. IMO a hasty mistake and the time to sell was a few months back. Seems we will see a slight change to a buyer vs sellers market. Glad I am not interested in selling, although I still see the top cars fetching top dollar the drivers and rest are showing signs of settling out.

I agree. It is why I pulled mine off the market, bad timing and the inventory for driver or even well setup C2, etc..seems to have come out of the woodwork. I'll wait until next year, unless the economy tanks even more. I have a red c2. About as common as a mustache in Mexico at this point.

I think need nothing examples will stay up there, no problem. People will be more discriminating when it comes to buying a car with needs... But I think the secret is out and many people aspire to own an air-cooled Porsche these days, it seems. It's hard to put the secret or desire back in the bag. While interest in cars seems down in general, the question is, are more enthusiasts being created per year vs established (ahem, older) enthusiasts leaving the hobby? THey aren't making any more of these cars, sooo...

Best time to sell a car is when you don't need the money. Best time to buy is when you're not in a hurry to score one but have the cash stashed under the bed.

I agree, the truly exceptional examples are still commanding and seeing new highs but the more common and/or cars with needs are becoming more known to the average buyer who is now willing to hold out as another seems to hit the market immediately after one sells vs months apart. The 928 market is suddenly on the rise as nice examples can still be had for around $50k but a year ago these same cars were barely bringing $30k.

Hi guys,

I got photos updated on my 1994 C2 with service records and engine pics. This is a great example ready to go for a collector or summer driver.

Reason I am selling is because this car is too good to modify.

My former 1990 C4 can now be seen on COPART's website.
https://www.copart.com/lot/50043023/...o-denver-south
It's a C4 (they say C2)
It's a 5spd manual (they say automatic)
I have over $60k in service/upgrade receipts
Both the car and I suffered 2nd degree burns on April 16th (house fire). Car was pretty much unscathed when it was moved from the garage to the
driveway, but the heat from the garage was too great. Did not have time to move it onto the street, had to rush back inside to get family out (they are all fine).
