Thank you all for your honest input. I'll keep you all posted. I'll take it to Rennsport next month and if there is no interest there I'll likely entertain listing it on BaT with a reasonable reserve.

Default RSA

I am just finishing up putting the last touches on an 88 coupe before I sell it. I am interested in your RSA but to me it's not a 90 plus car.

I am on the hunt for a nice driver 964 coupe. I am just not a 993 guy. I have also been tempted by these 997.2 coupes.

Well make an offer, the worst he could say is no right?

Again, to be completely transparent he has had an offer of $80k early on which he politely turned down. Wait a month or two, if it's still around $80k might sound reasonable to him, though as I stated before he's not giving me the impression it needs to go away quickly.

Curious to hear what everyone thinks of this one. Love Baltic Blue. Would prefer a cashmere interior over linen and Cup 1's with the typical lowered suspension mods, but still looks like a very well kept car.

That car looks clean and priced correctly. Probably won't last long.

Personally, I don't view the RS America as anything more than what it is. It's not an "RS." It's just a limited edition 964 C2 with sport suspension and without power steering, along with some weight-eliminating stuff deleted (or included). And it's even more limited when you consider the numbers crashed or trashed.

The other day I was offered a PTS RS-A with <15k miles for a cool $300k. In July I drove one at a dealer with miles in mid 50s and ask in high 80s (curiously, which was increased to 99k not long afterward). There's been a nice-appearing one with mid 60s miles that hasn't sold for at least six months with a mid 90s ask.

For me AC delete is a non-starter; LSD nice to have but likely in need of refurb; and I'm totally indifferent about SR and radio.

One day I would love to own a white RS America that hasn't been modified (much) or trashed.

I agree far to many cars with undisclosed accident, mile discrepancy and poor paintwork being passed off as original. It is hurting the market and far too many group the good with the bad and try to drag the market down so they can buy cheap.
Hey All,

I'm the new owner of the '94 Wide-Body. Excited to get her home to Southern California. I know I have some work to do to straighten some things out and perhaps a motor rebuild or reseal but looking forward to a new project. All the best, Tom.

I disagree. A good rsa is an awesome car. The manual rack is fantastic and itself significantly differentiates the car from a c2...And the seats are so comfortable. IMO a rsa is not that far off a euro Rs. If a good one can be had anywhere near the numbers being discussed IMO it is a no brainer and one of the few bargains currently in the Porsche world.

Yup and this one is even better. Believe it just sold in the $120-$130k range. Half price RS.

I would be happy to help if I can. It seems to be an honest example and I would bet the car is in better condition than some speculate. I would address the suspension first. A good cleaning of the engine, remove as much of the grime as you can and drive for a while to see what is leaking. I don't think it will be all that bad but expect to spend some money on parts and a bit of time cleaning. All the best with it and you should have many years of enjoyment.

Sorry I have to say an RSA is a nice ride but not very different than a well setup C2. It is no RS. I have had the manual rack it isn't like an SC which was a much lighter car and the power rack on the C2 is a + IMO for around town driving. MY C2 weighs the same.

I saw this car at Auto Kennel about 6 months ago. It sold right away. I was a bit surprised to see it came back up for sale. It was a clean car with great color combo. I passed cause i really wanted a C2. THe seller is reputable and forth coming. I also know several Porsche specialist mechanics in the area in case you want to get a PPI. If you are open to a C4, jump on it.

Nice modded C2 5spd coupe on BAT. Should bring some decent mula since these rarely pop up on that site.

Selling the car in Calif, registered in Maine, spent time in Canada. Issues with the heater, issues with the idle, "aggressive" clutch, no AC, clutch and idle causes engine to shut off, paint work, windshield issues, issue with the seat, warped dash, cracked glass in a gauge, lots of things that scream ex track car, etc etc. I like the car too but its a bundle of parts and builds that all sort of work together and its got some issues that are not minor which need to be sorted.

I guess "decent mula" is a relative term. I like the car too but I'd be weary about smogging it in CA, wondering about an "open title" since the cars got ME reg and its in Cali, plus all the money it will take to sort it, makes me think its not going too high.
