Too bad it wasn't a coupe. This was an $8k project car a few years back.

Interestingly the prices all come out the same in the end. Everything I look at in targas will set you back between $40-45k by the time you're done fixing everything it needs.

IMO this is better than buying a just needs some things car. Unless you hate yourself this is a complete teardown, inspect and refresh or replace. Perfect to make any way you want especially if you're handy. It all depends on how far you want to take it.

Looks like this is what we have come to, good grief. Thinking it might be better to start with this and make it what you want instead of inheriting someone else's mess. At least you know what you have in the end.

I'm going out on a limb and say another 30k minimum goes into this car to make it presentable and in working condition. A lot to choose from in first gen 964 Targas for $50k.

I can't believe nobody picked up on this car or purchased it here.
I have no doubt this will pop up and be discussed after some money is put into it and price increased considerably.

He had 16 interested buyers within hours of posting.

It was a truly honest and fairly priced example.

Wow Anthony, I would've bought that if I wasn't preoccupied a missed it.

As for the comments on the BAT Targa that needs "everything," I agree with the following comments. I paid about that amount for an example with a higher ceiling, (C2 coupe in a great color combo with much better paint) but that I knew needed an engine rebuild. In the end I decided if my options are to buy a 35k car with a motor that hadn't been rebuilt and would still need a ton of "little" stuff versus buying a car for 20k that still probably needed all the "little" stuff but needed an immediate rebuild, I'll take the 0 mile motor for the same price over the 100k mile motor and l learn how to do all the "little" stuff myself the motor is being built and take comfort in having a 100% mechanically sorted car to start.

Don't know if this one's still available. 1990 C4 coupe, dark blue over tan, sports seats, 83k miles. Looks clean and well-priced at $38k. No affiliation.

is the price high because of the special two tone paintwork?

I predict this car, as ugly a combination as it is, will break record pricing for RSR's for two reasons. One the mileage and two the fact that it is the only RSR optioned with a full interior. More of an RS with RSR upgrades than an RSR IMO but I guess more research would need to be done.

This is also the same combination as one of the three 92 Turbo S lightweights the collector special ordered.

This definitely needs some looking into;

Wow... I am usually against storing a car because the IRR usually stinks and because the cars are made for driving, but this one could turn out to be a very good investment.

Great color from 1990 "Dark Blue" it is not metallic. Just talked to the seller, he said he took a deposit today. Asked to get on his contingency list.

This one has been listed for 2-3 weeks. Kinda curious why it lasted so long. If he responds that the deal fell through, proceed with caution......
