I have never seen leak down numbers presented like that. It is usually noted as 5% not 95%. Or is it leaking down 95% LOL
Do you guys have experience with them? This car has nearly all the desirable mods I would do... would probably swap for stock or speedline wheels. Would you still PPI this car? They seem to know their stuff.. cheers.

That's a shame.

If I was going to chop up a 964 it would be to build a 3.8RS rep, not a trend-of-the-moment longhood backdate.

Always get a PPI no matter who is selling. Unless you know the cars quite well and have access to a lift and can check it out yourself.

Me too. Still looking for another donor. I just can't bring myself to chop up a good car.

Another 964 for auction on Bring a trailer.
Love watching these auctions and reading the comments!

A lot of work already done to a 20,000 mile car...

The seller is a Porsche mechanic who acquired the car in late 2014 after it had been parked for a year with broken head studs. The 3.6-liter flat-six was fully rebuilt by the seller as detailed below, while a new clutch and dual-mass flywheel were installed by the previous owner.

What an interesting car above. Looks more like a 90k mile car than a 19k mile car, really interested to see what it brings. Odd that the seller wouldn't just drive the car 200 miles and do the oil change and fix all of the little things like the cracked lights, broken stereo, and put some summer or AS tires on it. Then get a good PDR guy and some paint correction and I have to believe he would come out well ahead of the extra investment.

the underside of that car makes it look like it was rode hard, put away wet, for a distance far closer to 200000 miles.
yikes.

NO affiliation but in full disclosure I know the shop selling it.

I have seen this car in the flesh. I have been all through it and under it. Its all that and more.

Every detail has been sweated and were it a coupe I would own it today.

Must be a typo... 19 XXX instead of 91 XXX. I had a heavily used jeep on black diamond trails with 75,000 miles on it that had less dents in the exhaust heat shields and less oil on the bottom than this 964.

That's a car that I hope gets all the money, but I can't imagine how it would.

Mileage is listed as TMU- does not matter what ODO says

I have seen far too many cars like this.

[QUOTE]The odometer gear was broken when the seller purchased the car and has been replaced as documented in the gallery. The previous owner claimed the car was not driven with the broken odometer. 19,552 miles are shown, and the seller estimates his usage at roughly 150 miles prior to the removal of the engine. The Alpine CD player and aftermarket amplifier are not operational./QUOTE]

Likely story. This car has far more miles than the odo reads and broken head studs at 19k miles I think not. Also many other questions, heavily worn seat bolsters it will be interesting how far this goes.

No doubt an A1 quality job. I love to see this much put into a 964 but if this car sells for nearly $84k that would make my 93 C2 coupe worth close to $100k and I just don't see that happening.

TMU = True Mileage Unknown? Agreed.

.
Thanks Cobalt. I did not see that quote where they admitted to replacing the Speedo/Odo. Makes sense.

That thing has a lot going wrong for it. Winter driving only eh. Pfhff.
