Tan was not offered and is a very different color than cashmere. This is my 93 928 but the color is the same as my 93 C2. I am assuming this is the color you are talking about?

Gents - seems the side-shaft flanges on the G64 box are smaller than those on the G50 box (ie 100mm across vs 108mm)
I'm making new side shafts for the C4 to 2 conversion car - seems splines might also be different (C4 is 43 on flange part inside box)
Spline length clearly differs .. spline count is the same.

Wondering if it makes sense to find the bigger flanges (for a road car) so the CV's would be bigger?

Left is G64 Right is G50 flange

G64 left shown against the G50

Default Exhaust hose back pressure?

Does anyone know if using a rubber garage exhaust hose on a 964 can harm the engine? I know these hoses are used with liquid cooled cars, but I don't know if they are ok to use on a high performance, air cooled 964 engine. I assume they are probably ok but it never hurts to ask right? The hose I have is 2" in diameter and is the standard 11 foot length. These are normally used without any fan and I expect that they increase exhaust back pressure. Could this harm the exhaust valves or the cat?
A picture of a typical hose below. Thanks for any input.

Do both the odometer and speedometer read from the same output signal (i.e. do both use the same wheel speed or transmission sensor signal to drive mileage rolling and and the speed reading)? Thanks.

This is what I’m working with. I called auto Atlanta to get carpet samples. Maybe that’s best method.

Have kept the engine tray off both 964's I have. More a point of easy access and any oil leak monitoring. Never have had ever any engine cooling issues (unless stationary in hot summer traffic queues) Front and tranny trays I've always kept on as don't want to risk any stone (or off tarmac) strikes from the front when I've 'vigorously' driven the Scottish Highland twisties!

So true.. I would too if I didn't have a 30-year old motor above it.

The rear engine tray and the 3 other trays are designed to reduce drag and lift. 911's did quite well without them prior to the 964 and the factory omitted the engine tray from the turbos. The three middle trays are good for something like a 30% reduction of lift at speed. The rear engine tray is good for another 2% or so. IMO the pros don't outweigh the cons of keeping it. They trap heat and add weight amongst other things. Good for a C4 in the winter but the rest of the time I would remove it. I have driven cars with and without them. The new 964 I just purchased is missing them and you can actually feel the car is less stable at speed. Do what you want with the rear engine tray which does add a lot of weight and heat but the rest I would keep. If you decide to remove them I am looking to purchase some.

I've used an aluminum dryer hose to direct the exhaust gases out of my garage without any problems. I would assume a rubber one would be ok too.

I installed a new air intake tube on my 964, This one points up, unlike the factory one which points to the side of the motor. My question is, will this be an issue sucking up water? The intake tube does have a hole at the bottom to drain the water out, and my airbox has been swiss cheesed. I'm guessing that not a whole lot of air get sucked in through the tube, but I figured I should ask anyways.

Seems like a bunch of half measures. Why not make it a closed path but put a rain hat on it?

Default Help on ABS PDAS controller connection

I am trying to remove the multi-pin connector that goes to the ABS controller in the frunk (passenger side) without much luck. I removed the phillips head screw at the back end of the connector, and operated the lever which raised the front part of the connector but I cannot free up the back side of the connector. I don't want to pull too hard for fear of breaking something. There is a plastic clip at the back that looks like it will release the connector if you angle it up, but I get too much resistance when I try to angle it up. I have studied the clip to see if you need to press something to release it and have poked at it gently but again I am afraid of breaking old plastic.

What's the secret?
