Quick update: While the car is being repainted I've started re-doing some leather and fabric upholstery pieces. Below is a big roll of houndstooth for seat inserts and upper bolsters in the rear.

I am still searching for a coupe, but I asked myself would I be crazy enough to drive a car found in Cali back to NY. After seeing a few clean cars damaged by shippers, the miles and wear and tear received from driving is a cost I would rather pay than to leave it up to shippers. I hate depending on people because they never have the attention to detail as enthusiasts have. The owners maintained the original paint all these years only for the shipper to damage it in a matter of days. Crazy. Like the 993 that was crushed by the car on top of it.

A quick update after a long vacation break from working on the car: The car is now ready for pickup from paint. More photos after I have it in my possession.

Paint looks pretty good. Missing windows. Cardboard was fitted for transport.

Very nice! Paint looks perfect in photos and I imagine it looks even better in person.

Maybe I missed it, but what are your plans for the motor?

Thanks!

Plans for the engine are being re-evaluated at this point. I think it will depend on what I will see inside once I open the engine. Definitely some head studs are gone, but what else I don't know at this moment. Im just glad to be working on it again.

Thanks!
It was a very nice feeling, looking at the freshly painted car coming in from body shop on a flatbed. It reminded me of the first day I saw the car in person when it came on a flatbed but with all that accidental acid damage. If I could stitch my memory from the day "1" a year ago to the day it came from body this year it would make for a nice experience
