Happy New Year Guys :thumb up:

Together with some paperwork Nick at Redtek recently sent me a load of photos from my 3.8RSR build last year. I know this is "old news" as it were but some of you may enjoy them and due to some serious inactivity on my part I'd thought I'd share them with you - be warned, there's loads of 'em. There's nothing like lining your soldiers up when nothing else is happening.

Here we have Mahle barrels, TRW valves and heavy duty springs.

Matching Mahle 3.8 RS pistons before finishing.

Blended ports & throats. Titanium valve seats.

More soldiers - rockers, new bearings and seals.

Better get started then…..shell bearings…

Polished crank and balanced and matched steel (h.p. gain) connecting rods.

Boxing it up, you can see the boat-tailing of the inside edges inside the case for gas flow.

Now for the "top" end. ARP heavy duty studs

Chains & guides..

Lucy in the sky...

PMO Efi ITB's, got that?

JB Racing carbon fan shroud.

A little cutie appears with all new tin-ware powder coated.

Redtek's own oil catch tank

Nice Fabspeed with heat but I subsequently replaced this with their RS version better suited to a 3.8 to lose an drone

Happy days :bye:

That's about the nuts and bolts of it folks. I could have shown some "before" photos but they're not as pretty and we've all seen those sort of things countless times before.

Back soon with more on the interior :thumb up:

Cheers,
Paul

Hi Jeff,

Thanks! These are old photos from just over a year ago but I've just received them from Nick at Redtek so I thought I'd share a few with you all.

The last photo was actually after the shakedown (note the heat staining on the silencer) but I can confirm the car is absolutely stunning to drive, too much for the road really but hell it really makes you smile! I'm on with the interior at the moment and then the final parts of the suspension i.e. top mounts, camber plates, bushes etc.

Cheers,
Paul

Look at those yummy, hot rod parts. Thank you for taking the time to layout the photos so well.

At speed these cars can be equal parts delight or terror. I bet that feeling is dialed to "11" with an engine like that in the back!

Fantastic project so far!

Hi Breljohn,

It's fantastic to drive thanks. The power delivery is amazing and once it gets over 4k revs it's relentless, the power keep pushing hard in the back until the rev limiter kicks in at 7.5k. And the sound will makes the hairs on your neck stand on end, it turn from a air-cooled thrash into a hard-edged growl.

Wow that is something special indeed. Well worth the wait.
Cheers Mr Alex,

I'm looking forward to getting the interior sorted and back on the road in the spring.

Beautiful!!
Thanks Earlydays

Cheers again Anthony,

Thanks for all your comments,
Paul
