I just read thru the entire thread- start to finish. Some incredible dedication and OCD in play here BUT- with great results. I was hoping you had tackled a valve adjustment at some point, and documented that too. No joy ![Frown](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
But this is a great journal of your hard work over the past few years of ownership.

I was planning to do a home valve adjust, but to be honest...it would have taken me all day, and is one of those jobs that I would gladly pay someone else to do

What is different with an RS bonnet?
In my other 964 I had the brake ducts and RS rear centre section done and to be honest it looks brill - sets the back off nicely. Also had the headlight washers removed (along with all the piping). I have two RS rear sections that I got via ebay for my newest 964. I wasn't that impressed with the finish of one of them (even though from a well known 911 indie and ebayer). It would have meant hours of rubbing down and filling. Got another one of better quality. Have brake ducts too I've yet to put on. How much less capacity is an RS washer bottle?

RS bonnet is made of aluminium instead of steel. I'll put them both on the scales to verify the relative weights before I install it.
From what I can recall, the C2/C4 washer bottle that lives inside the front fender is huge and holds 7.5L. The RS washer bottle bolts to the side of the frunk, and is 1L. I believe that this is because some racing categories insist that the homologated weight of the RS had to be with all fluids topped up, so by reducing the washer reservoir, the racing weight of the RS could be 6.5kg less, and costs virtually nothing![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I hear ya on the RS bumper sections, and I agree that the aftermarket stuff can be a lucky dip...there is a used OEM one for sale in Japan at the moment, but it's pricey...

I'm not sure...this is what I found, but the pic looks like the US bumper, rather than the RS one: http://www.type911shop.co.uk/shop/ar...6aid%3D4907%26
If I search for the same part number at US stores, I get $780 or so (no pics to verify what it is tho).
The used RS bumper I was bidding on in Japan, went for US$320 in the end (which doesn't sound too bad in hindsight, to be honest)

Yeah, £330 plus 20% VAT plus shipping, so over £400... gets pricey.
However, as a proper OEM plastic moulding it's pliable and will fit right first off (or should do). Anything else (on eBay) is GRP and generally rough and a pain to fit - they don't always come with the plate light cut-outs either. In favour though I have a bodywork buddy who for a bottle of Scotch or two will fill and sand any imperfections and make perfect!

Bad luck! I'm convinced a lot of rear shunts are due to the absence of a high level brake light and our lights being so low. ********* only notice them at the last minute. I've taken to getting the high level spoiler/light fitted.

I have a confession to make (some on Rennlist will know already). It was entirely of my own doing
4 days back from a 9-month bare metal body resto and on the way to Le Mans last year I put it into someone's concrete garden wall (not before taking out the village sign!). An insurance write off - you should see the front and side! Embarrassed, depressed and I try not to think about it.
