Happy New Year to you too! & to every looker

Not been on here much, been busy with getting the festive period out of the way with work and running to and fro getting either new parts or things shotblasted ready for powercoat. Am sure theres a few questions and advice I need asking you guys!

As for colour I have narrowed down to either Mint, Emerald, Viper or Maritime. Gosh i wud love Rubystone!

Just seen a Mode Grau grey Porsche GT!!!! mad

Stop confusing the matter!!!

Anyway, odd and sod are coming through slowly, parts are getting gathered through time, and as mentioned certain things are getting refurbed.

Through the journey in sourcing parts, very interesting and generous people I have met on the way, such as Francis Boodts who donated a center section of the rear bumper for my car, as it wasn't needed. He sent me 3 pictures one of which the center section it came off and 2 of which he races his GTS Viper he races in Lemans hopefully this season.

Odds bits got b-blasted and have turned out very well, considering some bits have been painted in the past or flaking with years of builtup grease and dirt! These bits are the 1st to be cleaned..... now deciding what colour they should go

If those wheels were a lady, I would get them drunk and try to kiss them.

Thanks guys, hopefully will put some pictures up of JJ (R-Tek Motorsport) working on the harness points.

Once JJ gives the go-ahead with working on the harness points, all the bits such as doorbars, welding points to the rollbars and the body need to be finished will be shown.

In the meantime, you can see what JJs about at R-Tek Motorsport.

Hey Norm,
This is a great looking project.
When I did my engine rebuild I couldn't decide on colour for the fan and covers so went safe with black. Now wish i'd have gone gold like your wheels to match my engine tins.
A heads up on the fan,I filed a really small amount off each blade as
the paint can be a bit thick on the edge making it very close to the shroud.

Superb job Norm.

Andy.

Hi Andy, I do like the engine tin-wear! Do you have a picture of the engine now?complete? And is it best to have the fan powdercoated?

Had a conversation with Roger Harradine, who is building a 911 from scratch as well, and has gone fibreglass (not your usual fibreglass, but made of special weave) and is a lot lighter, thinking about it. its heat resistant too! They do tin-wear for Redtek (classic porsche)

Hi norm, lovely project . Is the rain gutter delete a lot of work? Can it be done by a reputable bodyshop?

Looking forward to seeing your progress. Will you keep the car in it's original colour?

Viggo, this is a question you need to ask Neil But I did consider deleting the gutter rail at the beginning, as Neil asked if I wanted it done. Am happy with the gutter rails and keeping her standard looking, but if she was a 3.2, I would consider it.

He did say it take more time, but can be easily done as its just as much more effort as folding and unfolding the gutter rails.

I believe he is painting an SC shell soon that has the gutter rails deleted replicating the RUF Yellowbird 911.

As for the colour, shes getting a different shade of green;-)

p.s You have a PM

Norm, for your reference here's a pic of my fan when it was powder coated as part of the engine rebuild, the valve covers where powder coated the same colour and all the tins were powder coated black.
