A Carrera on my desk - UPDATED
Well, sort of. There is something about the outdated look of the 911 dashboard that fascinates me. In particular, I think the clock is a wonderful step back in time with it's analog display and clunky adjustment feature. Since I needed a legible clock on my desk, I decided to use the real thing (and yes, my computer has a clock, and the watch on my wrist does work...).
After finding a nice clean example on Ebay, I spent a few hours this weekend fashioning it into a functional desk clock. A little bit of solder work, some woodwork, a few connectors, and a 12v transformer from a defunct IKEA lamp brough it to life. I love it!
I originally posted this in the 993 forum (Thread) , but have received numerous requests to make more. So I thought our 964 neighbors would be interested as well.

I think there are a few on Ebay at the moment.
As for the price, I will know more once I get a quote or two back from some of the woodworking companies I contacted. Used clocks are attainable in quantity, but not cheap. I predict that the clock will need to be priced well over $100 in order for me to cover my costs.

I saw a shop selling those, but they had all the warning lamps illuminated as well. Very cool. I was looking for on to do my self but they tend to go high on ebay...
Oh, and how do you set the time?
