Well, sort of. There is something about the outdated look of the 911 dashboard that fascinates me. In particular, I think the clock is a wonderful step back in time with it's analog display and clunky adjustment feature. Since I needed a legible clock on my desk, I decided to use the real thing (and yes, my computer has a clock, and the watch on my wrist does work...).
After finding a nice clean example on Ebay, I spent a few hours this weekend fashioning it into a functional desk clock. A little bit of solder work, some woodwork, a few connectors, and a 12v transformer from a defunct IKEA lamp brough it to life. I love it!

Sumtoc,
I actually have a switch on order, but in the meantime just added a jumper wire. To change the time, you just connect two of the pins and the clock advances with Teutonic precision.
I would actually consider making these for others, but would need to find someone who can churn out unfinished wooden blanks with the correct dimensions. Anyone have a full-fledged woodshop?

Nice Andreas - I want one too
- By the way, a while back you were looking for a non perfect 18 inch Turbo twist wheel - did you ever find one and what did you do with it?

David,
Mike and I are already talking regarding the necessary wood blanks....
TGP,
I think I'll do that.

Andreas:
I share your appreciation of the traditional 911 dashboard. Thanks to you, I now need a clock like yours.
Anxiously awaiting the DIY writeup ... or an order form.
