Negative reaction from other drivers
Was minding my own business driving on the road today in Newport Beach, CA, when this Mercedes GLE 350 proceeds to cut me off on the road at an unsafe speed. The driver then proceeds to drive slow alongside a slow moving vehicle on a one-direction two lane road in order to prevent me from passing.
Quite frankly, this was a bit upsetting as it seems like the driver was either jealous and purposely trying to taunt me. Has anyone else here been through a similar experience from other drivers on the road?

I think people trying to get in your way - in the passing lane for instance - is common regardless of the car you are in, and maybe more so for a 911. Why a Mercedes would do it, I don't know. Maybe he thinks you slighted him somehow.
I had a guy tailgating me once while I was using Adaptive Cruise Control and he was in a big dodge pickup. Of course the adaptive cruise control maintains the distance from the car in front. Well he took a offense, like I was brake checking him, and went around me and cut in from of me with 2 feet to spare... he showed me.

I own three different cars as well as my Porsche. Trust me, they’re just as arrogant and aggressive this side of the pond, whichever one I’m driving

This guy was driving fast to get ahead of me and aggressively. He then slowed down when we got to a two lane road and drove neck to neck with the car to his left purposely to prevent me from passing.
He was on the right lane with the slow car on the left.

Well, that's one way for a GLE 350 driver to feel better about themselves I guess....maybe that's the best experience that guy had for the whole week.

Had this issue in every sports car I've ever owned. From being flipped the bird, a$$ hat doing a burnout on gravel road in front of me, cut off blah blah blah Lots of anger issues out there-- they don't know you, don't take any of it personally and resist the urge to get pissed off.

Welcome to OC! Either he/she is a hater, jealous, on drugs, and/or just ignorant. I see strange behavior on the roads here in OC about a third of the time. It’s best not to engage them. Remember, you have way more to lose.

As someone mentioned, perhaps they thought you had slighted them in some way.
Or perhaps, anticipating what you were planning, they were trying to make a point: “no passing in the right lane.” (Although, if this were the case, their righteousness should have been applied to the slow driver in the left lane).
We can vent here on Rennlist, and move on. I’m glad nothing worse came of the situation— You stayed calm, and took the situation in stride.
