Killing me. There's a common bond where we all enjoy these cars...how we buy them, who maintains them...makes little difference. If I could pile a few more in the garage and have someone else do the dirty work, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Agree, and PCar people still occasionally bolster my faith in the species. For instance, just went to Luft Copenhagen and met so many cool folks from all over Europe. Shared stories, experiences, travel / food / drink tips, and generally bonded over our love for these cars and their.
But then, of course, there are loads of classless a**holes on these forums and elsewhere, but I don't think that's unique to our marque. Learning to filter out what doesn't serve me well or make me happy.
im curious on rennlist’s thoughts here. Is this market dropping, what’s this car really worth?
With all going on in this world buying second hand imported cars that have many questions I don't think is on everyones bucket list. The exceptional cars are moving at new highs the rest just waiting. The listing has poor photography, no paint meter readings and a mediocre suspension. The wheels are polarizing. For me the color doesn't work. I suspect a full paint or partial at a min. The engine has been cleaned and driven for a while and there is burnt oil on the heater boxes and signs of weeping from the timing chain covers which I suspect is worse than shown. I suspect possible damage to the rear end. Welds don't look normal and the lid gap is slightly off on the right hand side. The frunk pan has been damaged and poorly repaired and I am not sure what is bolted to the underside. Appears to be leaking from the trans. I suspect TMU but there is enough I see to stay away without more info and a thorough PPI.

I still think it was a little cheap - but in addition to the concerns you posted...to me, one of the reasons to get a row car is the potential for no sunroof and this car has a sunroof (not that there's anything wrong with that! )
The color had to be polarizing. Personally, make it silver...or make it yellow.. the silvery-yellow isn't fantastic....except for one member here who has the WTL, I'd take that in a heartbeat
NM - these pics are a little concerning

Reason: changed mind
I don't think it was the market vs just this particular listing. I just looked over a half dozen recent sales and I'm not seeing signs of things backing off.. I am not one to buy into the belief that Japanese cars are well maintained and imports are fine. That isn't my experience. Most I see are the opposite. Nice but rarely honest cars. I am still helping import a few but finding nice ones isn't easy and the only good cars we come across are unique high value examples with delivery or low miles and sold in pairs or collections costing more than $1M but can be sold off for considerably more.. The rest are mostly dogs with fleas. The fact that it was bid to $71.4k all in I think isn't bad considering the car has many questions the paint has no shine and is missing anything needed to make an assessment of its condition. I agree there are many things I can dive into that concern me but I stop after so many flags.
Looks sell, and that car looked funny. Ride height was a little wonky in the front, no real maintenance history, so it's also a gamble. Still seemed priced fair for all the new money it will probably take to make perfect. Looks like an honest, old driver.
Some unobtanium on BaT. A speed yellow RS 3.8. This was for sale with Porsche Salt Lake city for awhile believe they were asking $1.6-$1.8 million. This car is worth low-mid 1’s. Looks like the holes drilled for eye bolts to mount harnesses have been plugged up. If it were me I’d just get a new rear carpet piece though finding one with 3.8 RS embroidery maybe difficult so that’s probably why it’s this way.
Does anyone know what these washer looking pieces that are on stuck on the pans of this RS 3.8? Seems like all seam welded cars have them. Here’s a close up of the ones on my Cup. A lot have some protective coating probably cosmoline to prevent corrosion such as the RS 3.8 on BaT. Can’t remember if they did that from the factory with these. Mine doesn’t and believe it to have always been that way.
