I saw a similar one this weekend but in all honesty the yellow does little for me. Still wouldn't kick it out of my garage. Interesting they list air-bags in the specifications but all info says it is a Japanese import without air-bags.

Yellow seems to be the most common color amongst the 3.8 RS’. Not sure how the colors numbers breakdown as I don’t have a copy of Jurgen Barth’s book which has a ton of info. Probably the ultimate for me would be the Maritime Blue car.

If I did this correctly this is the color count for the 54 3.8 RS's only. For me it would be toss up either the Maritime or cobalt hard to choose they are my favorite non metallic and metallic colors. I would take any one of them.

Based on the pictures in his book I believe the one I saw the other day was the one off fly yellow.
I only have video of it. but it had a full cage which I would never drive on the street as the speed yellow cars didn't show as having them in the pictures.
Thanks! Have a hard time telling the difference between fly and speed yellow. The cobalt car is a clubsport and maritime a normal road version. Have seen road versions with roll cages, but not certain they were factory fitted.

I agree I can't tell them apart either sometimes. Only when compared side by side. I always wanted the cobalt one but I am SOL at these prices. If I have to settle with the Maritime blue one I guess I can live with it, LOL
I believe the yellow one I saw was fitted with a cage from the factory. I initially questioned it but all the photos I have of it from years ago show it to have the cage.
It appears we are at the point where a rebuilt car can bring all the money if it is well documented. I have spoken to so many this past week. Everything is being chopped up for backdates and EV's. I know of another 2 dozen cars from AR's to targas being sacrificed for these builds. Soon it will be tough to find anything that looks or sounds like a 964.

There are multiple companies besides Singer that now backdate 911’s with most being 964 based. Bad news for those looking for an unmolested car whether that’s now or in the future. Am looking for an early 911 preferably one with a lot of originality and unrestored. Have discovered it’s nearly impossible as most have been either restored (some not well) or chopped up at some point. There are very few that remain and maybe the same way with 964’s in the future. Also have found out from a friend trying to find a 959 it’s not been easy as Canepa has been getting there hands on many of the cars and been doing their reimagined builds on them. Some of the donors are original cars with less than 1k miles that are completely stripped and rebuilt. Very little of the original car remains.
