Remember seeing an RSA very similar to this one at Porsche's in the Park in Portland, Maine. Guards Red, no sunroof, and only option was LSD unlike the car for sale. Was even earlier than this car as believe it was one of the first 50. All original one owner car and said he got it through PCA which didn't know you could do at the time.
Wrong gearbox (has C2 trans), rear end damage and not great repairs to it, (maybe) front end damage - definitely something not right with the frunk alignment, all 4 wheels have been replaced according to seller (could be a good thing, could be bad). As with a lot of the Japanese cars, no service history to speak of. Was originally listed by 911r (who I would never personally buy from) in April, listing got pulled due to mechanical issues and now a new seller bought it last month and is trying their hand at it.
Honestly if somebody pays much more than the current price, they're already in over their head. I have a feeling this thing has been rode hard and put up wet.
^^^ Is this a DP build? It looks similar. Uses early 928 rear tail lights. Funny these and the Gemballa's which were always considered horrendous are getting lots of attention these days. Is this 964 based?

I’m not a fan of either. Do these get a lot of attention nowadays because they are so strange looking? Know some cars and coffee people want to attract a crowd whether the attention is good or bad. Just want to stand out with unusual styling or an odd color combo.

I have no idea - someone said on FB that they inherited it. Indicated that the bodywork, regardless of taste, was quite good.

I think the Radwood crowd likes them. But the problem with pretty much all of these cars is that they aren't driven anymore. They're more a curiosity for people to stare at then they are something to be driven on a canyon blast, etc. While I've seen a handful at cars and coffee type events (one lives in the Porsche Santa Clarita underground as well), I've never seen one on a driving event.
I think they were G Body based though, not 964 if memory serves, but hard to tell with that body kit!

i'm actually impressed with the work on the rear bumper as a whole. that said, gemballas were the ones i could never stomach (from the cocaine-induced 80's). DPs, on the other hand, always seemed racing inspired for the most part.
Oh so this was an AIR build. I was never a fan of their parts.
I had a 74 IROC clone which used a factory IROC front bumper. It was paper thin and I slightly damaged mine so I purchased one from AIR (this is going back 35 or more years) The AIR product was oversized by about 30% had no mounting options and weighed a ton in comparison. I ended up selling it and fixing the OE unit.
It looks like they tried to emulate the back end of a 928 withe rockers and side vents from a slope nose. Although they differ considerably from what was used on the 930. I recall the grossly oversized rear turbo wing. I know someone who uses one on their 600 hp 930 track car apparently it does add downforce. I suspect this is a Gbody build.
Sadly the car scene seems to be more about being seen at car shows than anything these days. The RWB and other oddities seem to always grab attention to the uninitiated. The large trains of fall drives aren't happening this year as previously it seems that just meeting up for a few hours is all people have time for. Sadly.
Seller back for round 2 on this modded ‘92 C2 Targa. Failed to sell at $175k a month ago which I think they should’ve taken. Off to a slow start with $55k bid after 4 days. Last auction was at $125k on the first day. Seller acquired car in 2022 for $70k and looks to have put more or less an additional $100k into it.
