One of the 20 Clubsports built for the Macau race series that never happened. All were different colors. They had leather wrapped roll cages, leather seats with tri-colored inserts, special steering wheels with the tri-coloring, and retained the carpeting unlike the regular Clubsports.
I do find it strange that the car has a C00 German delivery. I must assume all the cars were sold in Germany and exported? There are a number of things that appear to be reworked. Without before ice blasting pics it is hard to tell what is going on. No service history before 2003. The sticker is missing the standard crease and the print is much darker than usual. I suspect a reprint. The upper latch back lid should be cad yellow not black plastic which wasn't introduced until 93. The fan has been painted tan and clear coated. I also find it strange to see drip marks on the inside of the frunk compartment. Not something I am accustomed to seeing. Could be original paint or just bare metal respray hard to tell. The thing that catches my eye is the area in the upper corners of the engine bay. Seems to have more wrinkles than I am accustomed to but could be the color. The rear trailing arms have their parting lines ground off aggressively. Not sure why. Lastly the door pins are not set as they would be from the factory so I am assuming the doors were removed for some reason at one time. I would check this out before bidding. Nice color and looking car but needs to be seen.

I would like to learn more about this series. Just like the US cup cars these are not well known.

This car I suspect has had some previous paintwork.

They were prepared for a one make series in Macau to promote a local casino business. Deal in the end fell apart and Porsche sold the cars to a Japanese car dealer in Japan called Art Sports Osaka who in turn sold them to private owners in Japan. The option sticker says C00 indicating German delivery, but all the cars were sold new in Japan.

I would love one of the colorful Macau cars. its the brother from another mother to the US Carrera Cup cars. Too bad these cars don't have a Bob G to explain everything. .
I always assumed these were cup cars originally. Not intended for street use and probably not built on the standard assembly line. I actually assumed they were white cars all repainted from body in white for the series, which would explain the paint irregularities. Carpets were added in Japan after market, same as the leather wrapping on the cage. I wonder if this "different" intention and import process explains the option sticker differences.

My friend owned the Amethyst Macau car for a couple years (sold it earlier this year) and has first right of refusal on buy back. It was an amazing car but he found it way too aggressive for the street and it was too rare to track (for him) so it ended up in that weird no mans land. It was gorgeous and the interior was striking but he says he doesn't really miss it.

I don’t know why the car has a C00 German Delivery code when they were destined for a race series in China and later sold in Japan. If that’s the case then they should be option codes C08 (Japan LHD) or C99 (Special Country). I have heard of cars being exported when new from the country where their delivery code specified.

That is my confusion and I made the same mistake it would be C18 (RHD Japan) But in either case another unique series of cars. As darylbowden said the issue with the N/GT's is what can you do with them? Unlike the US spec cup cars and RS, basic or Touring which are street legal for the most part and decent to drive on the street these cars are beautiful show pieces and a part of history but somewhat useless to the average Porsche driver. I still prefer the US cup despite them all being white as a driver.

god, i love those RCTs. i'm not a fan of the turbo wing on NB cars, but in this case, i can forgive! my preference would be a nice shade of green that Ruf often uses, but i certainly would not complain about polar over tartan!!

Wow, any guesses what they're asking for it?
