I was just taking a look at the current 964s on BaT and saw this one. I cannot fathom the amount of laziness it requires to have purportedly gone through several services recently and not to have fixed the frown. It is literally the easiest thing to fix on the car, possibly aside from changing wiper blades. That just really irks me.

Couldn’t fully see, but the seals on the targa bar look pretty far gone in a few images, too.

Just my $0.02

Hi all. I just created a post of my own on this topic, when i should have just searched and come to this thread. My brother and I have owned 3 964s. I am about to pull the trigger on 92 Amercia Roadstear and wanted to get ya'lls thoughts on the model and its valuation. I am about to pull the trigger on one that is priced on the higher side to say the least but is a one owner car with 51k miles on it. Thanks for any replies. Great to be back in the saddle

That seems fair. Not allot of America roadsters out there. I saw one here in Dallas at a dealer this week for 229k... Although it does have under 10k miles.

And that's interesting. The 355 is one of the only cars I'd trade my 964 for.... Is it the F1 you hate?

Honestly I don't hate it but they just don't have the feel of a 911. Just brought the car out of engine out service. The F1 transmission is cool but the car lacks the responsiveness it should have for 380 hp. They look cool but from a drivers standpoint, you get more out of a 964 with 247 hp. Seriously go drive one if you haven't. It is the only one (Ferrari) we had in the family with us owning 10 911s (and other makes).

My FIL had a very nice 355, set a record on BAT at the time if I remember correctly. Totally unimpressive car. Slow, weird pedal placement just didn't feel like a nice car at all. Maybe it was me, but I was not impressed.

A properly setup 355 is a joy to drive and imo the F1 is only good in its first iteration paired with the 355 V8 engine. I agree it’s very different from a 964 so someone who only likes the feel of a 964 is not going to like a 355. However, mid-engine V8 screaming to 9k RPM with a Capristo along with old-school character is one of a kind that must be experienced.

I give you that. In the high RPM there is not a better sounding car. Sound is very F1. The car was set up right and serviced by one of the best in the county. They are all looks and sound. I won best in class with it at the Italian Motor Gathering here where i live in Texas. The active stock suspension is a joke. I can't wait to get my 92 America Roadster. Fun times ahead.
