I can understand making your own badge and making it uniquely personal. I did that to an early 911 I owned it was a 3.0L converted to a 3.2L I made up a Carrera 3.2 badge for the back lid. Although I never had a chance to install it before I sold the car. At least it is a unique badge to a unique car. I see no issue with what you are doing. It isn't like you are trying to pass it off as something factory that it isn't. Back in the 80's and 90's everyone was doing turbo body conversions keeping the engines stock and badging them as turbos. I believe that is when we started using the term posser for 911 owners like that.

It is a very nice Rubystone C2 for someone but the RS on the rear shelf and decklid would need to go. My C2 which can basically pass as an RSA by looking at it goes badgeless. It is closer to an actual RS than the Rubystone car which isn't remotely close to an actual RS's features.

That plate is not registered to this car. It’s registered to an ‘88 911. Looks like they use it just for listing photos as this ‘85 3.2 Carrera has the same plate. It’s a period correct California plate for a ‘92 model year car as this style was issued in the late 80’s early 90’s. Doesn’t matter as this ‘92 RS was imported from Italy in 2017. As far as I know California will rarely register a RoW car.

The Gold lease document shows financing of €750,000 and VAT of €157,500, total €907,500 back in 2017. Guessing it'll need to go well north of $1M to sell. Given how unknown these cars are, I guess we'll see if BaT is the right venue for this sale.

interesting thought - what happens to the 'bubble cars' as we move forward? are they priceless relics or worthless paperweights?

i watched the Kissimmee auctions recently and was rather surprised by the BIG NUMBERS going for everything. i want to say that most were up anywhere from 25-100% and many were in the 50-100% range. there was NO shortage of money and spending at Kissimmee. quality cars were bringing big money.

how long does all this last? likely beyond my lifetime, but i'm very curious where this all goes. regulations are killing the ICE cars and limitations on where they can be driven are increasing. the globalists are not going to ease up and it will continue to strangle the use of these cars.

just listen to some of the **** coming out of the WEF in Davos right now. al gore was especially entertaining with his "600,000 hiroshima bombs every day" and much more.

I honestly think with inflation collector cars are becoming more of an asset versus just "another car to drive". People are looking for cars or models that are growing in popularity and value. It could be a while before that trend has any kind of reversal.

One of the big drivers in anything collectible has always been - rarity...something that others don't have or can't reasonably obtain. Outside of the Porsche Museum, you can probably count on...1 maybe 2 hands? How many 964s there are with less than 100 miles...and then a C4 lightweight? So add in authenticity and rarity of the model itself, not just the miles.
