This is beyond the ICE car being worried about going away, which ain't happening anytime soon. What you see on TV is theatrics. What happened to the EV revolution? At least that makes more sense. But I think this is more the last few years of Covid $$$, transfers of wealth and maybe money laundering, who knows. Luxury goods are priced astronomically right now, while I see people struggling more than ever on the other end of the spectrum. Weird times.

I’m surprised the bidding on the C4 Lightweight is so low as the car will take at least 3-4 times more to buy it. The Singer that was uploaded a day later is already up to $875k. People not know what a C4 Lightweight is or the car looks like a plain 964 race car that just doesn’t do it aesthetically for some? I would take this car any day over a Singer. This is possibly a once in a lifetime opportunity for some collector to get a pretty much brand new C4 Lightweight one of the rarest most special 911’s ever produced.

I found the C4LW as have you, are cars nobody knows about or understand making them hard sells. This is also a car that requires a true experienced mechanic to keep running and expensive repairs when needed. Not much is off the shelf. The SInger on the other hand has made such a name for themselves that people just assume they are worth the buy in. I have heard of a few of the 4.0L engines having issues with not all that many miles on them and the reason they no longer are N/A. But everyone buys into the Emperor's new clothes hype these cars offer. There a Million dollars they must be great. LOL I found the craftsmanship is amazing but all fluff and great to show off at a C&C but in all honesty I still can't understand the allure.

The C4LW is a very interesting car but far from a street machine and not very comfortable unlike a singer. This black one as a very interesting piece. I believe it was the only one in black but don't hold me too it.

I don't know for sure but I believe the tail was repalced on this one.

There is over a week remaining on the C4LW - It's going to go to a collector, and I have a feeling there are probably a few waiting in the wings, patient enough as to not draw extra attention by needlessly bidding a week early.

Lately particularly on high demand cars (3.6 Turbo, Ford GT, newer Porsche GT, etc.) people put in some very early high bids. I don’t get it especially if you put in your maximum bid with several days to get which I have seen people do before. Although the C4 Lightweight is more of a niche car with not a lot of bidders as a lot don’t even know of these cars existence. Would of never expected to see one of these ever come up on an online auction site as I don’t think this is the best place to list it.

Noticed a small detail with the C4 Lightweight is that it has an external oil filler just behind the passenger’s side door just like a 1972 911.

Nice mileage wave from the Fox on Singer Cars. Wish we were all that lucky with OD discrepancies.

then again,... you did not say who owns the one you have pictures of,...
Saw a black one on the Canapa showroom in 2018.

Looks like they set the odo back to 0. I just sold a car that I have had for a few years and hasn't moved under its own power since 2009. Someone tried using its vin for an internet sale and carfax picked up on it posting a higher mileage than what is on the car. I find carfax can be more of a problem than a help and so many people actually believe what it says. There have been many cars on BaT that I know have had entire clips repalced which never went through insurance and nothing on the carfax. Carfax is for people who don't know and are too trusting. Just like some of the nannies on cars today. The yellow light wasn't on when I switched lanes but didn't bother actually looking to see if anyone was coming.

No Steve I did not nor would I.

Mint green targa for sale in France for 135k EUR: https://www.elferspot.com/en/car/por...e8ef-183863053

I post it because as compared to the mint cabriolet that's been for sale in FL for 145k for a while, this seems like a) probably a much better car (solid service history at least it appears) and b) better value. Still crazy to see these prices on Targas though.

@darylbowden Thanks for posting. The dealer website says car is sold. It was featured in a magazine write up a few years ago. See link here: https://www.speedstar.fr/wp-content/...2/11/RS219.pdf
Great price if it sold for that advertised amount on elfer.

Oh that's really interesting. The photos from that magazine article were used by the current listing as well. I assume Speed Star got it back from the previous buyer and sold it again. Not surprised it sold quickly though given the rarity and desirability of mint green, especially for a well-documented car.
