HIDs installed... I went with 5000K... but should have done 6000K instead... still they look white, bright, and 100 times better than before...

Chet helped with the install since he had done this before in his 964. So that made it easy.





The ballast is very thin, so we were able to put it right next to the housing...



Routed the wires using existing holes... stock grommets used



Grommet still not in place...



My oh My that is a lot of wires... but everything had a plug... the only thing we had to do was to make one of the harness longer... nothing some wire, soldering gun, and heat shrink could not fix... sorry, no photos of that...

ilko, could you elaborate? Lights are aimed correctly, these are High/Low replacements made for this setup.

HID bulbs are made for projector headlights, not reflector housings. The beam pattern is different, the intensity is different, and that's what makes them unsafe. You produce glare that you may think is more light output but it actually gives you eye fatigue at night. And it blinds oncoming traffic. If HID lights work in halogen housings, you would see auto manufacturers use them all the time because they are cheaper to make than projectors. But they don't work that way. I really don't see a reason to upgrade your H4's since they are leaps and bounds better than the US H5's our cars came with. I have Sylvania Silverstars in my H4's and they give me more than enough light output. If you want even more than that, you can always get a couple relays and get 80/100W H4 bulbs.

I had Silverstars and they were not that much better than the stock H4, imho of course. Also, did not wanted to go higer than 5000K with the HIDs because you really loose output after 4300K... so 5000K was the best compromise for light output and a white look. Did not cross my mind to do the higher W bulbs with the relays. Thank you for the link will read more on this.

Well, did not get a chance to work on the car this weekend... the family had other plans...

Meanwhile new carpet set came in...




And I also ordered a new shift boot and e-brake leather to replace those worn items...

Finally!



Funny how little things like this eat you up... After this I will clean and detail the whole car... and yes, the handle will be fix, that cover tends to pop out from time to time. Nothing a few more washer can't cure.



Ahhh!! Much better



Also installed new rubber seals around the headlights.





The famous clutch pin... now I see why everyone says that it can easily be done with a bolt instead...

Ah! A temporary fix that lasted 6 years...



now a proper hose clamp in place:



Since I added a wing the stock hood shocks setup was not holding up the weight... added, at the suggestion of one of the threads here, a third shock.



and got one side done:



Also installed the shift ****/boot, and the e-brake (all these are stock styled items in leather). That is all for now.

(couldn't resist)
That zip-tie oil holder is a classic. In fact, I envy your replacement, there. My clamp at that position didn't take kindly to my adroit manipulations a few weeks back, and some of the age-embrittled rubber broke off.
Nice, pliant rubbers works best, I always say!

Ok, did the other side today. So now all shocks are installed. Also installed the new clutch slave hose.

I was going to start replacing the oil line but forgot a friend borrowed the wrench for that... need to get it this week to continue the work.

Will start working on replacing the clutch lever pin in the mean time.
