Back to the Fabspeed exhaust install... In case you run into the same problem on a Friday night or Saturday... ACE Hardware has exhaust studs for our cars... that saved the day for me.

Still pending are installing the corner part of the bumper for the exhaust exit... and weld the oval tips

Looks great, Jaime. Thanks for all the pics too. It seems like an awful lot of torque being applied to the bolts holding that lift to the floor. What's the method of keeping those bolted down?

Hello Jaime,

Thanks for taking the time to document the exhaust installation.

Do the exhaust ends stick out far enough on a 964 if the oval tips are not installed? Hard to tell from your photo.

Does it seem like it will be easy to bottom out on the headers?

Are this the only tools needed to remove the exhaust?

Wachuko, did you install all the tubing for the heat, I am having a bit of trouble getting everything to fit. Could you post pictures of your install from underneath.

Thanks.

I had to use one of my old heater hoses to replace the front ones as the stock units in the front were too short for the Fabspeed setup... for the back, the ones that came with the Fabspeed are wayyyy too short to reach up there where the heater vents are....

I will take a few more photos as the car is still on the lift (have not had time to completely finish the car.

Jaime, are you talking about the orange hoses? If you need longer ones, I know of a cheap outlet for them in any length you need them. About $10 per foot, better quality too.

Yes, please let me know where to get them.... I had to use the newer one I had for the front and now I need new, longer, ones for the back.

The previous one you see here is black... the newer one was orange...

On this side I will have to modify that tin to avoid it cutting into the new hose...

The tube I am refering to is the SS tube from the engine compartment that hooks up to the 2 heat exchangers, with that tube in place, I cant' hook up the muffler to the headers, the 2 connectors are not long enough, without it works fine.

Front tubing... and a few more photos. Let me know exactly what your are looking for and I will take a photo.

Muffler clamps are still loose as I am looking to see how to put them so they can't be see from the outside. As it is now I can see the bottom of the muffler from the back. I need to completely lower the car from the lift to see if this is just because I am looking at it from a different angle.

I might cut the hose a little more so it looks a little bit better.

One more of the back hoses that need a new, longer one. Not from Fabspeed, mind you, looks like this one will have to come from Porsche or a local place.

First thing you need to do is to loosen the clamps holding the muffler until you align it with the headers. But what I find when doing that is that the muffler sticks out under the car.... can't move the headers so only option is to play with the muffler loose until it aligns and then tighten the clamps.

5/8 bolts with a drop in anchor in a 7/8 hole. I also poured some concrete expoxy before putting in the anchor as a safety precaution...

As you can see in the picture in my last post, I cant' get the muffler close enough for the pipes to reach the header. I can drop the muffler further down, but then it hangs down below the back of the car, and will scrape. That muffler should be up out of the way and out of sight. What I need are some longer pipes.
