Here's a pic of a 964 with a 993 top, just in case you wanted to take a look. I think it looks very nice - better with 17" wheels though.

I like it as well... but then again, I am a bit biased

Just a quick question. I remember you used to have cat bypass and g pipe setup. I have a cat bypass now and it sounds great, and I want to try the Gpipe but I don't want it to get MUCH louder since its already pretty good. Any advice, like was it ok to drive long distances with that exhaust setup and the cab roof up? TIA
This is so subjective... but imho cat bypass with G-pipe is the best sounding setup. Go for it! If you have not done so, try to find a spare airbox cover and makes holes to it and see if you also like the additional sound from that.

I am guessing that removal of the engine carrier is fairly easy?? Did not see any diy in the forum...
If you mean is it easy to remove the engine carrier to replace the motor mounts...you don't need to remove the carrier when fitting them. Just support the engine with a floor jack while swapping out each mount.

Yup! I was searching the forum last night for a diy on removing the carrier. Did not find one. There was a reference to Pcar Workshop but I did not find the process documented there either.

My plan is to replace the mounts so I can unlock the shifter and then move the car inside and tackle the carrier removal. I will document with photos to leave a reference here in Rennlist for the next person that wants to try it. Like I said, most likely an easy task since there has been a lot of folks here and in the 993 forum that have done this.

Ah!...got you now guys I took the easy route and had the P-car garage I use to fit the Rennline brace while doing other work but that was mostly due to not having the ability to do the welding myself. Removing it is pretty much a case of support the engine with floor jack, undo the nuts on the engine mounts, lower the floor jack a little, unbolt the rear tin and wrestle it out and then undo the carrier.

Fitting the brace is definitely a good idea....a friend of mine cracked his carrier (wasn't strengthened) last week during practice for the next day's race!

WEVO engine mounts and carrier reinforcement arrived...

I know that it is easy to do the engine mounts... but I took the photos so might as well upload them...

Support it the engine with the jack

19mm socket to loosen the mount nuts, and yes, I will sand and paint with POR15 all that when I take the engine carrier out. For now I just want to install the engine mounts to move the car to the garage.

Loosen the four top bolts (13mm) and remove the mounts. Pretty easy.

Old and shot mounts...

New mounts in place, just have to be careful that the bottom washer with the bushing does not fall out as you center the bolt and let it come down into the carrier.

I had to use bolts that were a little bit longer until the correct ones arrive (M12 1.5 x 95mm)

Bolts for the mounts arrived. Taking everything apart, welding the brace, painting the pans to get rid of that surface rust, getting the heater blower out.... it is going to be a great day

Cool

Brace and tin is out. Have you guys used POR15 on the tin or best to use some high temp paint due to how close this is to the exhaust? I think I have answered my own question... not sure POR15 is resistant to heat... will go with high temp spray paint.

Good think I got the brace... found to cracks in the engine carrier...

Checking fitment

First coat of paint

Checking fitment of blower bypass...

All looks good... but a thunderstorm is approaching @#%#$%#$W so welding, finishing painting the tin, and any other work will have to wait until tomorrow...
