Did the bottom covers come from IA?

Also, has anyone just ground the old covers on an emory table and popped 'em back on with new gaskets?

P.S. - Please don't wear the shorts and black socks combo in your gorgeous, gorgeous car!!!

Those were white when I started working on the car that day Now you know why I cropped the photo for the avatar

Valve covers came from Sunset Porsche.

Cool

No one has tackle the install of one of these in our cars??

I will need to stop by the dealer and see how these are attached to the shift assembly... it would be a nice change to what we have...

UPDATE: Search is our friend

996 Gearknob

Here is one with a similar shift **** (but wood instead of CF):

996 Gearknob -2

Found it with a 993 shift boot... that should work with ours...

820 with the matching CF handbrake...

There is also a company in the UK that has it - http://www.essentialstyling.com/993_interior.htm :

Set is £515+vat - I have never ordered from the UK... not sure how easy would be to get it... plus I think the exchange rate will not play on my favor...

Gee Jaime you never are going to be driving your car if you are always tearing it apart to redo or add something to it

Jim, I am driving it, I am. R32 is sitting pretty in the garage. It has been a long time since I last drove the car. I will be doing so for the next few months... the cat-bypass adds a bit more sound to the overall experience (or could be my mind playing tricks on me since it was been awhile...) you need to hear it and tell me what you think.

I am just getting ready for the next set of changes/fixes. I was thinking of replacing the rubber trim on the side sills ( I have had those since Marc mentioned doing his)... but I need to repaint the sills due to rock chips and the bottom black part needing a retouch (or to switch it all to red... not sure on what to do...)... but I will continue to drive the car for sometime before I do anything else...

Yea we need to get together and hunt down BIC to see his new car to before he racks on the miles. I am thinking about getting the primary bypass for mine. I liked the way yours sounded with the bypass. Of course the laps around Disney with Geoff in the R32 sounded pretty sweet also!

Jaime,

Lovely looking job on the brake caliper paint.

I've been trying to get some Porsche logo lettering for my brake calipers as well. Xenonmods was initially helpful but clammed up when I asked about a custom size for the raised lettering on my '90 C2 front calipers. They asked me to send a rubbing of the lettering (which I did) and haven't heard a thing in months despite several more attempts to contact them.

Not sure if you had the raised letter issue (doesn't look as if your fronts have the same cast in raised letters as mine...curious). The rears are no problem as it's a flat surface.

Raised letters? why not just paint them. A lot easier. That is what we did with the 951. The caliper on that one also has the raised letters... No raised letters in my 964... mine were flat. All I did was to sand down the old letters and sticked the new ones once the paint dried... some clear coat over them and done...

Jaime,

I love the Momo competition wheel - in fact, I have one waiting to be installed.

What did you do about the airbag fault? Install the "test" plug?

And why does your dash have the headlight level adjuster? I thought that was just on European cars.

My car was imported from Sweden and it had a Momo wheel when I got it so not sure what was done to disable the airbag light (and the light bulb is still there)...

Let me clarify... I bought it in Fort Lauderdale… from a guy from Sweden that imported and legalized the car here in the US… he was moving back to Sweden and wanted to sell his cars before he left…
