Jaime,

How's the temperature when you drive now?

I thought the point of the tins was mostly for heat protection; no?

I was under the impression that the main purpose for those was engine noise mitigation... shielded silver to minize the heat associated with having them there...

Someone with more knowledge on the subject should chime in...

A few more... Bumper is out.

For those that want to know what the bumper looks like from behind... our bumpers are three pieces bolted together... easy to swap single exhaust setup for dual.

New bumper corner pending paint...

Just a few more of the area that the bumper covers:

Quick look of the new heater pipes.... now the normal hoses can be used to connect these to the car... got to get new hoses...

Looks like the project is on hold... I did a small test and the paint does not match... come Monday I will stop by the local paint supply store to have them match the color... It was hard to photograph the part as the paint came out looking the same on the pictures...

Here are a few where you can tell the difference in shade of red...

hahahahaahah, I do have experience... I painted my first car Rust Oleum Gloss Black... with a brush..

I have a spray gun, filters, and all that is needed to paint the parts. I got the base/clear coat paint to shoot it... problem was that I went by the paint code instead of taking a painted part for comparison, duh!

Anyway.... I will take the rest of the day and clean and sand all the parts in preparation for painting...

But first I have to finish mopping some 30 galons of salt water from the living room floor... always remember to put hose clamps on the aquarium hoses... don't ask...

A few photos. Now with the muffler and oval tips:

Not aligned... just a quick photo...

Other side (I know... will clean all that before putting everything back together... muffler must come out for installing the bumper... )

Unhappy

Remind me to tell you about this funny story of how I should have let a pro paint the bumper... it is about not sealing the canister correctly on the spray gun and the canister falling on my leg and floor... how the paint still does not match, how I learned what fish eyes are, what smeared paint on a new bumper piece looks like... it is funny as hell... my wife is still laughing (just like the time that silver spray paint fell on the floor and burst on my new shoes... my work shoes now...)

I mean... why do it right the first time when I can screw it up, do it twice, and paid more to have it fix, right??

Anyone knows a good method for removing car paint from the skin? My right leg is now all Guards Red to match the bumper... not the rest of the car...

Jaime, do you need the 2 ft of orange heater duct I have left over? Let me know, I'll get it to you.
