Default Numeric Racing Short Shifter

What's up guys! We just wanted to drop a development thread on our newest Short Shifter for the 964/993 models.

After recently finishing up our G-Body shifter, the last big market one we had left to create was the 964/993 and it has definitely not disappointed. This shifter is most comparable to our 996/997 shifter with it having 3 Adjustable throw options and no self centering spring on the shifter itself. We kept the Numeric recipe alive using ball bearings on all of our moving axis' and making everything out of pure billet aluminum. The shifts on this thing are absolute rifle bolt and feel so smooth. We were able to eliminate all of the play in the shifter and now the only play coming through is straight from the transmission.

We made a small teaser video comparing the stock shifter to ours so you can see how big of a difference it actually is. We have been working on this one for the better part of the year and are only about a month out from having these ready to be Pre-Ordered so be on the lookout for that! Check out the video below and a few pictures we snapped!

Definitely interested. I wrote ou guys a while back but didn't hear back so I'll ask here. Is the **** position going to be different than stock? I know there are a bunch of us that would love to see it if not higher than at least further back.

Not installed yet. Very excited about it, but am still worried it’s a bit much for a street car that only gets tracked occasionally (cut console, etc.).

Looks pretty cool. So this would hide out and look OEM once the boot is back on? Do you have to modify the tunnel? Is it a reversible mod?

I really don't like the vibe of some of these really extreme shifters that have the hacked up console and half the mechanism sticking out. It's fine for a dedicated racecar, but for a hard-parked street car, you just look like a clown.

I have the Numeric shifter on my 997 and love it.

Not long fitted the FD Motorsports shifter to my 964 unfortunately!

Is this tunnel-mounted? Will it work with Fister’s Golden Rod?

We have multiple height positions, one just less than an inch above stock and the other right about stock height. Nothing of a huge change from stock position, an extension in the future isn't out of the question to bring that shifter closer.

Here at Numeric we live by "OEM fitment, aftermarket performance". The shifter fits completely OEM and 100% reversible! Only need to remove a few sloppy OEM shifter parts and install ours in minutes. The ONLY thing we couldn't work around is that you need to get underneath the car for install, as any 964/993 owner knows, there is no way around this for any shifter install. It really is a bolt-on mod that makes a HUGE difference.

It is tunnel-mounted, and yes it works with their golden rod!

I'm just over in St. Pete with a C2 Tip. I have a 5-speed for it and it's time to gather all the parts!

you're better off with the numeric set up for your 964 it'll be perfect for it for the power level. I had a numeric on my fully built 996 TT (1140 hp) and eventually switched to CAE as it felt more reassuring when changing gears on high boost it just basically clicks to go into gear and almost impossible to miss. I didn't mind cutting some parts of the console as the shop applied some plastic mouldings around the edges and came out nice. Still miss that car.

We have it dialed in 100% for C2 and are still working on C4. Our goal is to be for all 964/993 without fabrication. Will keep you updated on the C4 process too!
