It appears this way because the stock one can be adjusted forward and aft by loosening or tightening the forward rod. In this example seen, the stock one was adjusted to be leaning further towards the rear of the car. But our shifter sits perfectly straight up and has the same exact angle on the shift lever towards the driver as the stock one. So, if your stock one is sitting straight up, then ours is exactly the same.

This means they are getting closer to ship! But as for the throw setting, it comes down to preference. They are both much shorter than the stock throw, and the shorter throw option is 1/4" shorter each gear than the "longer" throw option (which is already 1" less than stock). We just personally prefer the longer one for casual driving. Some track guys may prefer the shorter throw. It is very subjective for everyone but both of them feel fantastic.

Thanks for sharing this video. The shifter looks great and simplifies a lot that is annoying with the original. Is there a reason that you guys didn't add a threaded-end stainless stud off the shifter to connect the gear shift rod? A lock nut to hold this together would seem simpler than using a bolt with red loctite.

Does the kit come with grommets to plug the shifter pipe holes? It's interesting the video shows zipping the boot but those larger holes are left open.

Ubipa--Good points. I wonder what the diameter of the shift tube hole is? My car is a 1990, I had to cut an oval and put the updated shift tube bushing. If NR isn't supplying plugs, I'd like to know the size and have plugs ahead of time. Anyone? I think I'll plug the boot hole and then put a zip-tie around it. I have the Golden Rod, it has the same attachment to the NR shifter and a stud would have been a nicer solution. I can live with the Loctite. I'm looking forward to the shifter arriving, it looks terrific. I currently have a nearly new Rothsport billet short-shifter (silver) and FD forward rod that I’ll be selling.

How about vibration transmitted from the trans? Do you feel it thru the shift lever? I assume the OEM **** will absorb some but for those looking to use the reboot with wooden ****, how much vibration and noise will be transmitted into the cabin.

I am guessing you could always put a thin isolation pad between the shifter that the tunnel. I am waiting to see mine once it arrives

In the shorter throw position (which I understand slightly increases the height of the shift ****), does the OEM boot still work without stretching / interfering with the throw of each gear?

With regards to the holes left where the OEM shift tube goes, they're 35mm (1 3/8") diameter--as near as I could see. My car is in a shop getting a Motec kit (Rasant) and electric/hydraulic power steering installed so the center cover is off and I was able to measure it. I found 1 3/8" solid rubber plugs on
Amazon Amazon

Awhile back I stumbled on this and ordered a few in almost every large size. Most of the kits only have the smaller sizes. For the price, you couldn’t beat it:

Pre-order placed! The installation video was very helpful. I will try to have a go at this on my own with the four post lift.
