Thanks
I’d highly suggest the Fister Golden Rod at the same time as the shifter.

The force is increased, but not dramatically where it is uncomfortable. Our teaser video shows a glimpse of that below. And there is a longer throw setting which requires less force too. We did not quantify it because those numbers mean almost nothing to the average customer. If it really is a problem for some, a weighted shift **** will bring the effort right back to about stock.

Adding the golden rod will eliminate the play in shift rod as compared to the stock rod. Our shifter does 80% of the removal of slop, but if cost isn't an issue, then the golden rod with our shifter would eliminate all of the play and then you would only have the play from what is inside the transmission. This would add to our bolt action shifting feeling. Our opinion would be to try just our shifter first and then add the golden rod if you desire more (Unless you are the kind of person that goes all out from the start). We have no doubt that our shifter alone will feel amazing and precise.

I completely disagree with that last statement about the goldenrod...fwiw. (The part about try the shifter and then add the goldenrod)

The goldenrod for a c2 - or new shift coupler bushings- is essential, if you want to remove the play and slop. Regardless of the numeric. Granted- you should take a look at your shift coupler bushings to be sure they are sloppy- but after 30 years - generally speaking - they are all sloppy, if not falling apart.

For me- since it's such an easy swap- i recommend the goldenrod. No-brainer upgrade.

For the rest...I'm looking forward to feeling this shifter. I have a numeric for the 996- and i was blown away when it arrived at how nice it was.

Lastly- I'm shocked, dismayed, and entirely bummed that you guys decided to make a shifter for the c2 prior to making one for the c4.

We were first born in the 964 world.

Looking forward to trying this out. I will put it in my latest purchase I am using as my track car and see how I like it. I might swap it over to the Blue Meanie when I get around to finishing it but if it is that good I might just sell the Rothsport shifter and buy a second.

I do agree if you are going through this swap either the golden rod or at a minimum replace your bushings with new.

Just got it installed! My Horizon 964 was their test fit car and can't say I expected any less. Having driven their Short shifters in both 997 and 991's this was a no brainer! The shift feel is so improved with the stock rod! Really clicks into gear nicely and can feel once full in the gear. No more guessing or popping out of gear. I went for the longer throw which feels very close to OEM but about an inch less compared to stock. Couldn't recommend it more!

Cool,

I was told they found a place locally to test fit it. My son said he missed that one by a day and would have liked to have been the first but hopefully will have mine installed for the Glen at the end of August.

I was also told they found a place locally to test fit locally- of course as I'm in Japan I didn't think anything of it!

I believe Numeric is going to try and install them for local clients as an offered service soon. They have a great team there with lots of experience and treated my car very well. I'm sure lots of local Porsche shops can do the install, it seems very easy to do. They will have an install video soon!

Great video. Does this mean units are getting closer to ship? Also, can you better describe the differences between the two shifter positions and why you recommend one over the other?

Great install video for sure!! At the end, looks like neutral sits very far forward (not center like stock) once the numeric shifter is Installed. Is that the case?
