What's the additional effort like when using the shifter? One of my peeves about some aftermarket shifters is how the effort required to execute shifts can be dramatically increased and/or effort is not linear between gears. I completely understand that the effort may go up due to changes in leverage, pivot points, etc. but just wanted to see if the additional effort can be quantified/measured or compared to other aftermarket shifter options.

I completely disagree with that last statement about the goldenrod...fwiw. (The part about try the shifter and then add the goldenrod)
The goldenrod for a c2 - or new shift coupler bushings- is essential, if you want to remove the play and slop. Regardless of the numeric. Granted- you should take a look at your shift coupler bushings to be sure they are sloppy- but after 30 years - generally speaking - they are all sloppy, if not falling apart.
For me- since it's such an easy swap- i recommend the goldenrod. No-brainer upgrade.
For the rest...I'm looking forward to feeling this shifter. I have a numeric for the 996- and i was blown away when it arrived at how nice it was.
Lastly- I'm shocked, dismayed, and entirely bummed that you guys decided to make a shifter for the c2 prior to making one for the c4.
We were first born in the 964 world.

Looking forward to trying this out. I will put it in my latest purchase I am using as my track car and see how I like it. I might swap it over to the Blue Meanie when I get around to finishing it but if it is that good I might just sell the Rothsport shifter and buy a second.
I do agree if you are going through this swap either the golden rod or at a minimum replace your bushings with new.

Just got it installed! My Horizon 964 was their test fit car and can't say I expected any less. Having driven their Short shifters in both 997 and 991's this was a no brainer! The shift feel is so improved with the stock rod! Really clicks into gear nicely and can feel once full in the gear. No more guessing or popping out of gear. I went for the longer throw which feels very close to OEM but about an inch less compared to stock. Couldn't recommend it more!

Cool,
I was told they found a place locally to test fit it. My son said he missed that one by a day and would have liked to have been the first but hopefully will have mine installed for the Glen at the end of August.

I believe Numeric is going to try and install them for local clients as an offered service soon. They have a great team there with lots of experience and treated my car very well. I'm sure lots of local Porsche shops can do the install, it seems very easy to do. They will have an install video soon!

Great install video for sure!! At the end, looks like neutral sits very far forward (not center like stock) once the numeric shifter is Installed. Is that the case?
