Numeric Racing Short Shifter

Mine is on its way….excited! I’ll probably go with the shorter shift option & red loctite it.
I just rec’d the FD Motorsport golden rod so I’m all in for the full experience. I bought some Dynamat to reduce any tunnel noise, not sure where I want to add it yet, I’ll know once I’m in there. Leaving the shifter OEM. A shame all this fancy hardware is hidden 😜

Installed mine this morning. Shortest throw setting.
Three notes:
1. it’s fairly easy to change the throw setting once everything is in place if you want to test both options before applying loctite (I did mine on Jack stands so if you have a lift, even easier).
2. Installing the shifter from inside the car requires a lot of maneuvering and a bit of force before you find the exact geometric fit.
3. my golden rod had some welds that made threading the bolt from the bottom a bit challenging (some interference), but as long as you’re not cross threading the bolt should snug the golden rod into position.
Very straightforward and nice to have the detailed video. Looking forward to taking it for a drive!

Hey guys, just TRIED to install mine today and finally got it to "work" but had to put shifter into long throw position as in short throw I could not get into any of the "top" gears (1st, 3rd, 5th) as the shifter was hitting the front internal frame. Once I moved the shifter to the long throw position I was able to get all 5 gears but there is still a slight interference issue. I made a video and sent it over to Numeric so will see what they come back with. Golden rod was the same length as factory rod, the Numeric "N" was facing rear, and the shift rod was curved back towards the rear of the car, as that is the only way you can install this as the transmission shift rod can only install one way on the shifter, so I am at a lose as there are no other adjustments that can be made?
I also had to file down the welds on the Golden Rod (purchased new from Numeric with the shifter just FYI) as the rod bolt would not even align or allow the bolt to finger tighten as the welds forced the rod to far away from shifter receiver to align properly.
Guess will see what Numeric has to offer tomorrow when the open up.

Also, at the risk of sounding like a jerk, did you install the shift rod with it angled backward toward the driver? That part could accidentally be flipped and may create the issue you’re describing.

LOL no worries, your not a jerk! you can only install the shifter with the angle back towards the rear of the car, if you have it reversed the shift rod from the transmission will not be able to connect as the "half moon" receiver on the shifter as it will be facing the wrong way. There is really no way anyone can install this shifter wrong... it will only work one way. If you watch their installation video posted it will make sense.
