Great to see you still have it. I was “in” the market for one while back and this one came to mind/pm. Have fun and enjoy.

This is an awesome story, shame I didn't know about it or I'd have gone and checked it out in person at Luft in 19, that was the BEST!

Still for sale eh? Reasons why I didn't purchase are not needed, but I'm a bit lost why its for sale while getting it to where you want?

Wrong forum mate. I'll be the first to say that no one cross shops a 964 Cup, NGT, or RS with a Turbo S of ANY year.

Late to the party, but for future reference, I think I still have the list of VINs and engine numbers of all the cars that Andial converted. All engines were removed, cams changed ( maybe timing only, I cannot remember).

I dyno'ed every one and may even have the final numbers.

So what was the typical HP of the 25 cars converted by Andial? I assumed 270 at the crank?

Need some opinion from the the experts: what's a good option regarding seats? I have a 92 OEM 964 seats coming but the issue is locating a seatbelt system for it as PO tossed it away. I am thinking purchasing Recaro Pole Position with a 4 or 5 point harness system?

I thought you took the cage out? Where are you going to attach harnesses? Did you leave a roll bar?

Why not just buy used or new seatbelts and buckles? Is something else missing?

Full cage completely out and lots of grinding to bring it back as close to factory by removing the mounting plate very labor intensive, lol
Until I find some cool seats I'll just use a stocker 92 964 leather seats and source a complete seatbelt system (new/used) including the hardware.
Right now she's completely bare and will need a good clean up and getting rid of the old glue, I'll post some photos

I think you are confusing this with the US 964 turbo S2. These were stock turbos that were sent to Andial and had the engines converted. I don't believe the Cup car engines were converted or touched internally and should produce 256 vs 247 SAE HP. According to Bob Gagnon's article on these which is quite comprehensive these received the M64.03 engines and not the standard M64.02 engines from the factory. According to Bob's article 4 engines were tested and sealed. I believe This car is one of those.

Twenty-nine of these 45 cars were shipped from Charleston to Andial/PMNA. Of these, 25 were converted to the full Carrera Cup racing specification and 4 had their engines sealed, checked on the dynamometer and their clutch plate changed to the racing unit. These 4 cars were to be used as parts cars and were otherwise unchanged from the way they were imported. These 29 cars were then shipped to Reno, Nevada for storage at Porsche Cars North America.

Default Confused yes my middle name

I’m often confused but on this one absolutely on point, if the original conversation was about the first 964 NA Cup program. I was working in the Andial race engine shop at the time. I personally did all of the engine dyno testing on every cup engine. We had to make sure all engines were equal.

All the engines were removed from the cars and either had the cam timing changed or cams replaced. This part I cannot remember, which. I can remember the engines had this change done. I am pretty sure I still have all the performance numbers for each engine in a file packed away somewhere.

Steve Becker who now works with me did all of the engine work, Rich Creedon and Eric Bloss did all of the engine in and outs along with the rest of the build work.

Eric still works for PMNA and probably has more info and a better memory.

Thanks to Neil for posting! Cool to hear from one of the people "in the room".

As to horsepower, it depends on little. The 964s are notorious for having lower compression ratios than published by the factory. if you CC the heads and get the compression to the factory 11.3:1, plus full balance/blueprint the engine, you will get something in the 270-280 range.
