Default 2.8l motor bad under 1k miles

Had a stroker motor build by Lindsey. Got the car running but was having oil consumption issues, replace turbo charger it's a garret also did a restrictor . Still pouring oil in the intercooler pipes and fouling plugs... Also with my dme tuner had to take a ton of fuel I had to cut back on ...engine was burning the oil in the manifold was fuel.... So finally did a compression check.. Got 120-140 on all 4 wich is low... Also did a leak down have 40 percent blow by. Wow that's crazy so my oil is comming from the rings... What a great motor Lindsey built me .... I will upload photos tonight . The walls of the cylinder looks like it's was galling.. What I noticed before they put the head on, before the motor was installed the cylinders were very shinny the bore did not look like it was coated with the proper stuff. I forget the term it's called but it should be matte grey not chrome. Anyways I talked to them about it and they said the walls were shinny bc of oil lol what bs!!!! Any ways they are not taking fault ... So I have shop with a good rep take apart the motor now and document every thing with photos so I need to take legal action I can .

I'm trying, I am very upset after spending over 10k on this motor and it went to ****... Like I said I have it at a shop now getting analyzed so I can have proof that this is Lindsey's fault and take legal action if needed hopefully they will warranty it and get the shop money that is fixing it ... That's prob not going to happen lol

After I paid Lindsey for the motor everyone told me to watch out, because they do not know how to build motors ....that was too late. I guess I learned the hard way..

There are many many reasons why a motor can go bad.

Below are some links which I highly recommend to check them out.

Or just google: ks piston damage pdf

To show another perspective, I had a shop in Texas build me a LSx long block. Got it up here, installed it, it ran great, but made less power on the dyno than my old, smoking junkyard motor.

Called them up, they immediately took ownership of it, sent me a call tag and paid to have the motor shipped back to them. They tore it down the day they got it, analyzed the issues and called me the next day.

They gave me a set of RHS heads and built me a 383 stroker for just the cost of the crank, as their mistake cost me shop labor and most my race season.

They were stand up every step of the way and no excuses made at any point.

So there are shops out there that do the right thing, I'm sorry this isn't your experience right now...
